    Well. Who saw that coming?

Admit it. Even the most optimistic of Wigan fans can't have thought there was a way back into things.

    Nick Powell had other ideas.

    Bury 0-1 Rochdale

Full time in our game in League One too where Callum Camps' goal just before half-time proved to be the difference.

Rochdale's victory lifts them to eighth and cuts the gap between them and the play-off places to just three points.

Bury, meanwhile, will have an anxious Good Friday as they look over their shoulders at the relegation zone.

    FT: Wigan 3-2 Barnsley

A quite incredible game. Back-to-back wins for Wigan and their chances of staying up remain alive.

Only just, because they are still four points from safety with four games to play. But they have a chance. At 2-0 down, looking well beaten - with just over 20 minutes to play - they seemingly had no chance.

    But. What a comeback.

Ryan Kent goes close to earning a point for Barnsley with a curling effort that is well saved. That is surely time up.

The first half was dreadful. And that's being kind.

The second has been magnificent. Is there time for more drama?

    Barnsley are pushing forward.

We are into five minutes of time added on.

Nick Powell's penalty is securing all the points for Wigan if things stay as they are.

  10. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 13 April 2017

    Wigan 3-2 Barnsley

Barnsley do more than press and have the ball in the net thanks to a Matty James strike.

But the effort is ruled out, seemingly for a push on keeper Jakob Haugaard. It's not obvious what it was for but that seems to be the best option.

    Wigan 3-2 Barnsley

Barnsley get their act together after ten minutes of Nick Powell-inspired mayhem at the other end, forcing a few nervy moments in the home box.

We are into the last three minutes and the visitors are pressing.

    Wigan 3-2 Barnsley

Nick Powell seems intent on keeping Wigan in the Championship all on his own.

He runs through and is not that far off bagging a fourth goal, but drags his effort wide.

The Latics substitute only has the three so far. And remember, Powell got the last-gasp winner against Rotherham at the weekend.

    Wigan 3-2 Barnsley

Powell is the coolest man at the DW Stadium, finding the top corner with a wonderful penalty.

Powell is pushed in the box by Angus MacDonald. It looked a clear penalty.

How on earth has this happened?

    Wigan 2-2 Barnsley

So, so close to a third Wigan goal.

Max Power's fourth attempt of the night comes crashing back off the bar. By my reckoning his next one should find the net.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:22 British Summer Time 13 April 2017

    Wigan 2-2 Barnsley

A cynical foul on Nick Powell by Barnsley's Gethin Jones who goes in the book.

Former Manchester United man Powell has proved his quality since coming on. He didn't get the chance at Old Trafford after a big-money move, but you cane see why they took the gamble.

    Wigan 2-2 Barnsley

As turnarounds go it might be the most dramatic ever witnessed but in terms of how likely it seems it's right up there.

Wigan looked dead and buried but Nick Powell has changed all that.

Still nearly fifteen minutes to go - plus injury-time.

    Wigan 2-2 Barnsley

    Wow. What do I know?

Two goals in two minutes and it's very much game on. Substitute Nick Powell scores Wigan's first from a free-kick that Adam Davies probably should have saved.

And just over a minute later he follows up Ryan Colclough's strike to level the scores.

Can they force a winner? Remarkable stuff.
