Three minutes of the five extra minutes have been played. Wigan are holding firm.

Barnsley do more than press and have the ball in the net thanks to a Matty James strike.

But the effort is ruled out, seemingly for a push on keeper Jakob Haugaard. It's not obvious what it was for but that seems to be the best option. 

Barnsley get their act together after ten minutes of Nick Powell-inspired mayhem at the other end, forcing a few nervy moments in the home box.

We are into the last three minutes and the visitors are pressing.

Nick Powell seems intent on keeping Wigan in the Championship all on his own.

He runs through and is not that far off bagging a fourth goal, but drags his effort wide.

The Latics substitute only has the three so far. And remember, Powell got the last-gasp winner against Rotherham at the weekend.

Incredible stuff. Into the last ten minutes. And Wigan have a spot-kick.

Former Manchester United man Powell has proved his quality since coming on. He didn't get the chance at Old Trafford after a big-money move, but you cane see why they took the gamble.

As turnarounds go it might be the most dramatic ever witnessed but in terms of how likely it seems it's right up there.

Wigan looked dead and buried but Nick Powell has changed all that.
