    Derby 0-1 Huddersfield

A slightly subdued atmosphere at Pride Park, with the fans from Yorkshire sounding like they are making most of the noise.

I don't want to tempt fate, Derby fans, but it is on 17 occasions that your side have failed to score this season and that's not looked like changing today, so far at least.

  2. 'A steely determination'published at 17:37 British Summer Time 17 April 2017

    FT: Brighton 2-1 Wigan

Here's a little more from Chris Hughton on why his side were able to earn promotion after last season's disappointment.

Brighton manager Chris Hughton on BBC Radio 5 live:

"It had something to do with how the season ended last season, but I think it was more the fact that the players enjoyed being up that end of the table, competing, getting into the play-offs.

"I think it was a conscious decision that they wanted that again, and the signs were the early in the season.

"We recruited well early in the season, in the summer, but it was a real steely determination from the group of players that wanted to do it again."

Brighton manager Chris Hughton on BBC Radio 5 live:

"It's a performance today that apart from that last 15 minutes warrants us being where we are, we've been outstanding all season.

"It's very difficult to talk in a way that I would like to talk because of course mathematically we're not over the line yet, but I'm well aware that it would take a hell of a turnaround not to happen.

"I think if I was part of that group of supporters, I'd be out on the pitch screaming and shouting as well."

    Derby 0-1 Huddersfield

Not much in terms of goalmouth action since Collin Quanergave Huddersfield the lead at Derby.

Darren Bent, who earlier had a goal disallowed for offside, hits a shot towards goal but a couple of blocks from defenders prevent it going too far towards goal.

  8. 'We won't rest on our laurels'published at 17:20 British Summer Time 17 April 2017

    FT: Brighton 2-1 Wigan

Brighton may have been all but promoted, but it doesn't seem as though keeper David Stockdale is letting himself get too carried away.

Brighton goalkeeper David Stockdale on BBC Radio 5 live:

"I wanted a clean sheet, as we all do. We made it a little bit hard for ourselves.

"We got a little bit complacent in the last 10 minutes, as if it was already party mode, which I didn't like because we've got a Championship to win now.

"We're not going to rest on our laurels - I know the gaffer won't - we will literally be looking at next week now and trying to win the Championship."

Timothy Watson: Well done to Seagulls, now to wait with baited breath to see if they have got promoted.

We asked you what you're most looking forward to next season. Brighton fans responded.

Daniel: Playing against Pep Guardiola next season, and people finally knowing who we are for a change!

CapedCapybara: I don't know what is more exciting, playing in the top flight, playing at places like the Emirates, or another chance to destroy Crystal Palace!

Champions Sheffield United beat Bradford City 3-0 in the lunchtime kick-off which allowed Scunthorpe to go above them into fourth with their 3-1 victory against Chesterfield that relegated Gary Caldwell's side.

Fleetwood stay third after beating Millwall 1-0, but Southend didn't take advantage to move above the Lions into the final play-off spot after losing 2-1 at home to MK Dons.

Losses for Port Vale and Swindon leave them still in the relegation zone as 19th-placed Shrewsbury got a valuable point at Northampton.

"It's an amazing moment for us, all of us, we worked so hard this season and we deserved it.

"We have an amazing group and we show it every week, and I'm happy that we finished it today.

"I think the feeling from last season gave us all the strength for this season, and everyone saw that our experience from last season helped us."

We're underway in our final Championship game of the day at Pride Park as Huddersfield look to move back third. Derby have the slimmest of slim hopes for reaching the play-offs still.

Wins for Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham put them in pole position for a play-off place, but Leeds' loss at home to Wolves drops them to seventh.

While Brighton celebrate their imminent promotion, they look like they're going to be champions too as Newcastle's 3-1 loss at Ipswich means they're now seven points behind the Seagulls.

At the other end, Burton take a huge three points with a 2-0 win at Birmingham, while Blackburn and Bristol City take a point each in a 1-1 draw, and Nottingham Forest lost at Cardiff to sit just a point above Rovers.

  20. Brighton heading for the Premier Leaguepublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 17 April 2017

    FT: Brighton 2-1 Wigan

The fans storm the field as Brighton celebrate a victory that just about guarantees their spot in the Premier League next season.

Nick Powell's late goal for Wigan made it nervy in the end, but strikes from Glenn Murray and Solly March were enough to give the hosts a deserved victory.

After a 34-year absence, the Seagulls are heading back to the top flight.
