Hartlepool can't break down a resilient Cheltenham side, who still lead 1-0, needing only a draw to guarantee their survival.

Pools' hopes of avoiding relegation today have received a boost from elsewhere though, as Carlisle have come from a goal down to lead Newport County 2-1 thanks to goals from Jabo Ibehre and Nicky Adams.

The Exiles are now only two points above Hartlepool as it stands, with their goal difference one goal worse than their relegation rivals.

Aston Villa make their first change of the day, Gabby Agbonlahor coming on for Henri Lansbury.

The striker scored his first goal in 14 months last week to beat rivals Birmingham City.

Boss Steve Bruce will be hoping he can make it two in two today.

Luton have retaken the lead against Accrington Stanley, and they've done so in rather unusual style, Omar Beckles heading a throw-in into his own net. Moments later it's 3-1 to Luton, Isaac Vassell with the Hatters' third goal.

Elsewhere, play-off chasing Stevenage are level at Yeovil, Josh McQuoid poking in from close range.

That goal at Blackburn coupled with Conor Washington giving QPR the lead at Loftus Road means that Forest are back in real trouble.

El Bearinho: I don't buy this argument about clubs playing "weakened teams". Clubs are rightly free to play any player in the squad "strong" enough.

Sean Swift: Looks like Huddersfield are trying to avoid Fulham in the play-offs.

They're bound for the play-offs as it stands but they'd better hope they don't end up in a penalty shoot-out...

Tom Cairney missed today's spot-kick that would have given them a 2-1 lead.

    Championship half-time scores

    Tom CairneyImage source, Rex Features

Quite a first half in the Championship where we finally have all the half-times in after a 57-minute first half at Reading after serious injuries to Wigan pair Shaun MacDonald and Reece Burke.

The Latics' mood won't be helped by the fact they trail to Yann Kermorgant's early early and are going down as it stands.

With Leeds losing, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham, for whom Tom Cairney has been on target, are also all on course to book their play-off places today.

    • Barnsley 1-0 Burton
    • Birmingham 1-0 Huddersfield
    • Blackburn 0-0 Aston Villa
    • Derby 2-1 Wolves
    • Fulham 1-1 Brentford
    • Ipswich 0-0 Sheff Wed
    • Leeds 1-3 Norwich
    • Preston 1-1 Rotherham
    • QPR 0-0 Nottingham Forest

    League Two half-time scores

Hartlepool still trail to Danny Wright's early goal at Cheltenham, and with Newport beating Carlisle at half-time, Pools are 45 minutes away from relegation to the National League as things stand.

Doncaster are on course to secure the League Two title, as they would go three points clear of Plymouth at the top of the table if the scores stay this way at the end of 90 minutes. Rovers' vastly-superior goal difference would make the final week a mere formality unless Plymouth can fight back to pick up points at home to Crewe.

    • Accrington 1-1 Luton
    • Barnet 2-0 Grimsby
    • Cambridge 1-0 Crawley
    • Carlisle 0-1 Newport
    • Cheltenham 1-0 Hartlepool
    • Doncaster 1-1 Exeter
    • Leyton Orient 0-1 Colchester
    • Mansfield 0-0 Portsmouth
    • Morecambe 0-0 Wycombe
    • Notts County 1-0 Blackpool
    • Plymouth 0-1 Crewe
    • Yeovil 1-0 Stevenage
