    Granada 0-1 Celta Vigo

Chance for Granada. Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez bursts in from the left and crosses low towarsd Ezequiel Ponce. He cannot quite get there, and the defender puts it out for a corner, from which Sverrir Ingi Ingason loops a far post header over with the goalkeeper nowhere.

To continue my tale: I didn't realise until I got to the restaurant that I would be doing silver service. And I wasn't trained to do silver service. The result was an absolute calamity. Some people got desserts before main courses, and I served one person a bowl of soup with a tea towel draped in it.

Celta Vigo midfielder Marcelo Diaz is booked for a wild hack on Wakaso Mubarak. Team-mate Alvaro Lemos is booked for dragging back Andreas Pereira.

So, here's the tale. Years ago, when I was an impoverished* student, I got a Christmas holiday job working in a restaurant. This involved working on New Year's Eve, in the days when people still went out on New Year's Eve.

(*I say impoverished. I was basically sustained by the bank of mum and dad.)

This isn't going too well for Tony Adams at the moment. So I'm going to tell a story that might cheer him up a bit. Obviously, I'll keep describing any significant incidents in the game too.

Before I start the story: Granada defender Sverrir Ingi Ingason breaks down the right and delivers a cross that Sergio Alvarez, in the Celta Vigo goal, gathers. Then Ezequiel Ponce wins a corner for the home side. Nothing comes from it, but it lifts the crowd.

Theo Bongonda lashes one into the stand when well placed on the left to add a second for the visitors. Granada battling just to stay in this at the moment.

Dave Wood: Somehow I don't think Nigel Reo-Coker & Kieran Richardson are going to be the answer here.

I'm not sure what the answer is here, to be honest. Suggestions?

Tony Adams waves his arms on the touchline to urge his team forward. A Granada attack breaks down. The home fans groan. The drummer is still going, but at a slower pace now. It's more the percussion of a ballad than an uptempo dance hit.

And there indeed is the change for Granada. Kravets, the Ukranian, cannot continue, so Morocco international Carcela-Gonzalez is on in his place. Granada still have 11 different nationalities on the pitch.

Carcela-Gonzalez has been doing further warming up during half-time, so it looks as if he is coming on for Kravets.

Incidentally, Granada did not replace Artem Kravets at the end of that first half, even though Mehdi Carcela-Gonzelez was warming up to come on. A sensible decision; it gives them the half-time break to assess if Kravets can continue after suffering that awkward fall.

Granada had 42% possession in that first half. Now I know that West Brom frequently make do with less than that, but I'm not sure Tony Adams is looking to play the Tony Pulis way. Improvement needed.

A colleague has just walked into the office. I mention I'm covering the Granada game. "Where's Gerald Sinstadt?" he asks. It's a gag that will make little sense to anyone under 40, but it amuses me. So here he is.

Whistles from the home fans. A tough first 45 minutes for Tony Adams. Granada had a couple of decent sights of goal, but Celta Vigo - with a second string line-up - had the better of that half.

Worrying moments for the Granada defence again. Theo Bongonda charges into the penalty area down the right, and wriggles through the home tackles to set up Claudio Beauvue, but the French striker loses his footing and cannot get into a position to shoot.

There's a problem for Artem Kravets, who slips on the surface and seems to have done his ankle. He hobbles off.

A bit of yellow card confusion here, as Granada's Artem Kravets clatters into Pape Cheikh with studs showing, and is booked. Now look back a few minutes in the timeline here, and you'll see I mentioned another booking for Kravets. Well, turns out that booking wasn't for the Ukrainian, it was for his team-mate Sverrir Ingi Ingason. So Kravets can stay on. Just as well, really. I wouldn't fancy Granada to get back into this with 10 men.

Chance for Granada. Uche Agbo sprints down the right and crosses low towards Artem Kravets, who may just get caught by the defender as he goes for it, though he doesn't appeal. The ball runs loose to Ezequiel Ponce, whose shot is deflected behind.

Andreas Pereira takes the corner, which is cleared to Gaston Silva, who blasts over.

Granada forward Artem Kravets is booked, and looks baffled. I'm guessing he said something he shouldn't have.

Wakaso Mubarak quickly follows Kravets into the book for a crunching challenge on Pape Cheikh. That yellow card is rather more obvious.

While I try to think of other famous drummers (yes, yes, him from the Beatles), Granada's Andreas Pereira is bowled over by Pape Cheikh. Pereira whips in the free-kick from the left towards the near post, and Jozabed glances just wide , narrowly avoiding an own goal. The corner comes to nought. Stewart Copeland, that's another famous drummer.

There's a drummer in the stand who has been giving it plenty all the way through this game. Honestly, he would put Phil Collins or Stephen Morris from New Order to shame. Does sound a bit like rumbling thunder, though.

Granada have it all to do now. Ruben Vezo swings in a good cvross from the right towards Ezequiel Ponce in response, but Facundo Roncaglia gets in a terrific defensive header.

Then, from the next attack, Andreas Pereira tees up Wakaso Mubarak to shoot from 25 yards, but it's hit with a bit too much fade and spins away from goal as it rises.

    Granada 0-1 Celta Vigo

Whatever defensive drills Tony Adams has done in training this week, they seem to have been forgotten. The build-up to Celta Vigo's opener is an absolute mess. Guillermo Ochoa races from his penalty area to head away a through ball, but then Wakaso Mubarak loses the challenge, and Claudio Beauvue slides through for Fulham loanee Jozabed to run in untroubled and dink over the keeper. It's a nice finish from Jozabed, but the whole thing seemed to happen in slow motion.
