    Wayne Rooney

    Well, well.

They have created nothing all game but are back in the contention with a lovely goal.

It is made by Anthony Martial, who ghosts past Kieran Tripper down United's left before keeping his cool to pick out Wayne Rooney, three yards out to toe-poke a finish into the roof of the net via a slight deflection off Jan Vertonghen.

Barely deserved but it is game on now.

The bulldozers will soon be in...

...and that is just for the Manchester United squad.

This has not been a good enough performance today and the reaction from the supporters on social media tells you that.

Those in the ground are still behind their team though, chanting "Red Army, Red Army".

It is amazing how often people get in touch with us who are supposed to be revising. Football and studies - a difficult mix.

I started following Spurs when I went to college in north London in the mid 70s. In my final year I spent way too much time going to matches when we were in the 2nd division but it was all worth to be at St Mary's when we got promoted. My finals didn't go that well though.

Shots on target: Tottenham 6-1 Man Utd

It's a good job United have David de Gea in between the sticks.

Surely he has to start the biggest game of the season in the Europa League final against Ajax?

Jose Mourinho has said he will stick with Sergio Romero for the competition.

Hugo Lloris scrambling, he is not getting to it...

...but Anthony Martial's superb effort curls a foot wide of the far post.

It has been one of those days for United's Frenchman.

Memories of the Lane - Text 81111

Took my youngest son, Monty, to his first match at The Lane on 6 Nov 2004. Lost to Charlton 2-3. He was 6, freezing and soaking, on my lap. At 0-3 down, after 60mins, I asked if he wanted to leave to catch the earlier train. He said No; he was absolutely captivated. The earlier train crashed, a tragedy claiming 7 lives. And we have NEVER left a game early. No matter how far away.

Are these Man United substitutes being brought on to stop them from getting a hiding rather than getting back in the game?

Daley Blind plays a cross into the feet of Wayne Rooney in the box, but the Manchester United captain cannot control it, loses his bearings and the ball evades his heavy feet.

    Painful.

Rooney has got to be careful here. He is already in the book - he has had a few warnings now and then there was a handball. He HAS to be careful.

United are laughable at the back. I would say it's Sunday league defending, but that would be unfair on the Dog and Duck.

Doctor for Manchester United please, Tottenham are all over them like a rash.

This time Harry Kane goes in search for his second, but his effort from outside the area sails just wide of goal.

David de Gea had given up on it, he might be doing the same to his Manchester United career after this.

It's a great finish - Harry Kane has volleyed the ball four yards out.

Not marked properly, from a dead ball situation, in the same area as the first goal.

The first time they conceded, the United players had a look of deflation about them - this time it was frustration.
