What about that for a response? Armstrong deadly yet again when Celtic need him most. Derek McInnes absolutely furious on the touchline.

The quality of the finish was superb. He hit it well and it dipped, so I don't think you can blame the goalkeeper.

    What a response from Celtic.

Callum McGregor spins through a couple of tackles as the ball falls into Stuart Armstrong's path. The midfielder is allowed to progress to the edge of the box rather easily and he lashes a shot past Joe Lewis.

It's a fantastically worked set play. Nobody marks Hayes and it's a fantastic left-foot finish.

The aggregate score is an overwhelming 12-2 in favour of Brendan Rodgers' side.

    Celtic v Aberdeen (15:00)

Mark McGhee recounts the tale on BBC Radio Scotland of then-Aberdeen manager Alex Ferguson telling his players ahead of the 1984 Scottish Cup final that anybody who was leaving the club in the summer would not be playing.

Sir Alex came back to the striker, who was heading for Hamburg, a couple of weeks later and said: "I've had another think about it. I trust you."

McGhee says present Dons boss Derek McInnes obviously has similar trust in Ryan Jack as the midfielder returns to the starting line-up despite announcing he is leaving Pittodrie.
