Fabian Pavez the Dre: So looks like teams from the same group will face again in the final and third place playoff.

    Germany 4-1 Mexico

    My word, what a finish!

    What a shot!

Out of nothing, Marco Fabian pulls one back for Mexico with an absolute powerdrive from over 30 yards.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen can only watch the ball whistle past his head and into the net.

Surely too late for Mexico though?

    Germany 3-0 Mexico

First proper showing of Hirving Lazano's pace since he came on as he gets away from tired Germany defenders down the right and crosses for Javier Hernandez. Matthias Ginter is there to it first, though.

    Germany 3-0 Mexico

Corner number 348 for Mexico. Miguel Layun takes it and Rafael Marquez gets his 38-year-old head on it, straight at Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

That's Mexico's 21st shot on goal and seventh on target. Can't say they haven't had chances.

    Big chance, big save.
