Now, it's terrific that Aberdeen have reached the third qualifying round once again. However, victory over the Cypriots over two legs will not be enough to reach the group stage of the Europa League: there is still a play-off round to negotiate.

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes: "It was important we tried to quieten this crowd down. There were a couple of scary moments in the first half. We know there is quality in the team. Greg (Stewart) brings a real bit of quality for the first goal. You could see the fitness level of the team; we got stronger as the game went on. Once we were in front you could see the spirit of the team. Tansey gives us energy in the middle of the park. Nicky Maynard does a great bit of movement for Greg's goal. I think we were a game short going into this game. In hindsight I should have played another pre-season game. It was more the competitive edge (that was missing). Thankfully I'm not beating myself up about it because we've got through. Our scout has been over tonight in Moldova (watching Apollon Limassol). If we can reach the heights next week we can be confident going into it. Hopefully the fans get home safely and they can go to Cyprus."

Ryan Christie, who created the Dons' first with a lovely disguised reverse pass for Greg Stewart, takes a grip of the play on the right wing, scurries past two Siroki players and curls a left-foot pass into the path of Gary Mackay-Steven on the far side of the box. The summer signing from Celtic bullets a left-footed shot into the net. The Dons are surely going through.
