  1. Goodnightpublished at 22:04 British Summer Time 20 July 2017

FT Siroki Brijeg 0-2 Aberdeen (1-3)

Well, it was a very pleasant surprise to see Aberdeen score two goals away from home to ensure Scottish representation in the Europa League for another two weeks at least. Thank you very much for lending your attention to our live coverage of the game. All the best.

  2. Apollon Limassol is 'a winnable tie'published at 22:01 British Summer Time 20 July 2017

FT Siroki Brijeg 0-2 Aberdeen (1-3)

BBC Scotland football pundit Michael Grant: "Limassol are in the same boat as Aberdeen in a sense. Their domestic season isn't up and running. They finished third in the league last year and qualified by winning the cup. Aberdeen will think that is a winnable tie. They have to keep the tie alive at Pittodrie. Kari Arnason will come into the team. There were times tonight when a better team would have picked Aberdeen off and scored from some of the counter attacks. Arnason is the perfect spy in the camp having come from Cypriot football."

  3. Two more hurdles for Donspublished at 21:57 British Summer Time 20 July 2017

FT Siroki Brijeg 0-2 Aberdeen (1-3)

Now, it's terrific that Aberdeen have reached the third qualifying round once again. However, victory over the Cypriots over two legs will not be enough to reach the group stage of the Europa League: there is still a play-off round to negotiate.

  4. McInnes: We got stronger as game went onpublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 20 July 2017

FT Siroki Brijeg 0-2 Aberdeen (1-3)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes: "It was important we tried to quieten this crowd down. There were a couple of scary moments in the first half. We know there is quality in the team. Greg (Stewart) brings a real bit of quality for the first goal. You could see the fitness level of the team; we got stronger as the game went on. Once we were in front you could see the spirit of the team. Tansey gives us energy in the middle of the park. Nicky Maynard does a great bit of movement for Greg's goal. I think we were a game short going into this game. In hindsight I should have played another pre-season game. It was more the competitive edge (that was missing). Thankfully I'm not beating myself up about it because we've got through. Our scout has been over tonight in Moldova (watching Apollon Limassol). If we can reach the heights next week we can be confident going into it. Hopefully the fans get home safely and they can go to Cyprus."

There was real intent about their game at the start of the second half. They definitely had class in Ryan Christie, and Greg Stewart and Gary Mackay-Steven showed their class as well

  6. A save as good as a goalpublished at 21:46 British Summer Time 20 July 2017

FT Siroki Brijeg 0-2 Aberdeen (1-3)

The save by Joe Lewis to deny Ivan Krstanovic from scoring with a spectacular volley was a crucial moment in the match. It preceded Aberdeen's first goal, made by Ryan Christie, finished by Greg Stewart.

Aberdeen will play Apollon at Pittodrie next Thursday. What a turnaround in the Dons' performance. They, and the hosts, were poor in the first half but they kept at it and with Ryan Christie's vision found a way through.

    Siroki Brijeg 0-2 Aberdeen (1-3)

It's brilliant play from Ryan Christie. What a pass, and it's a composed finish. Aberdeen just need to keep their discipline now

  16. goal

GOAL Siroki Brijeg 0-2 Aberdeen (1-3)published at 21:23 British Summer Time 20 July 2017

    Gary Mackay-Steven

Oh, what a goal! Ryan Christie, who created the Dons' first with a lovely disguised reverse pass for Greg Stewart, takes a grip of the play on the right wing, scurries past two Siroki players and curls a left-foot pass into the path of Gary Mackay-Steven on the far side of the box. The summer signing from Celtic bullets a left-footed shot into the net. The Dons are surely going through.

Aberdeen have been the better team in the second half and what a finish from Greg Stewart. You can see the quality he has. He's been the main threat

  20. goal

GOAL Siroki Brijeg 0-1 Aberdeen (1-2)published at 21:17 British Summer Time 20 July 2017

    Greg Stewart

Summer signing Greg Stewart scores a vital goal for the Dons on his first start. He is played in on the right side of the penalty box by Ryan Christie and he keeps his cool to place it into the far corner of the Siroki net. Lovely finish, lad.
