They'll find it difficult coming up with the quality and the most important thing is concentration.

They've got to be on it every single game.

  2. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield win their first corner, much to the disgust of Timothy Fosu-Mensah. He reckons the ball came off Steve Mounie last. He's wrong.

Aaron Mooy whips in the corner, Wayne Hennessey flaps, but gathers at the second attempt.

  3. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Huddersfield

Patrick van Aanholt, playing as the left wing-back for Palace, storms up the flank as he looks to beat half of Huddersfield. Looks like half of the West Yorkshire town is in front of the Dutchman. He crosses, but Zanka boots clear.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Huddersfield

Huddersfield fans didn't need any further encouragement to make some noise, but they got it. I hope they handed out some foam ear-plugs like you get at gigs on the Selhurst turnstiles.

  5. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Huddersfield

What. A. Chance! Almost the perfect start for Huddersfield as Tom Ince sidefoots straight at Wayne Hennessey from 12 yards.

Tommy Smith crosses from the right, Patrick van Aanholt flicks a header out only as far as Ince. But the former Palace loanee's effort lacks conviction.

    Should have scored.

When you look at Huddersfield and Brighton, with so many years out of the top flight, it is so amazing for their fans to be a part of it.

Enjoy the moment. We do not want them to go down. We want as many English players in the Premier League as possible.

It's all new territory for Huddersfield as they prepare to embark on their first-ever Premier League campaign.

Terriers boss David Wagner, sporting new glasses for a new season it seems, was interviewed earlier for Match of the Day, which Huddersfield fans can look forward to watching tonight.

Palace keeper Wayne Hennessey ducks under a low doorframe as he follows skipper Jason Puncheon out of the tunnel, both sets of players jostling for position as they squeeze out onto the pitch.

Cracking atmosphere at Selhurst. A wonderful ovation from the home fans for new gaffer Frank de Boer.

Points on the board and smiles on the faces of the Huddersfield players will be key, as the club gets used to life in the Premier League.

I'm good friends with Andy Hughes, a first-team coach at Huddersfield, and he tells me his lads are ready.

Plenty of grins on the away players crammed into the tight Selhurst tunnel. They look like they've just been told they have a free round of golf at St Andrew's. Most of them probably can't believe they're playing for the Terriers in the Premier League.

David Wagner says Huddersfield are probably the biggest underdogs in Premier League history,, external but his vow that they're not just here 'to say hello' has been underlined by some serious spending.

Their acquisitions not only look shrewd, the fact they bought quickly has also helped reduce the disadvantage play-off winners face in terms of preparation time.

There's excitement at Crystal Palace as well as they begin a club record fifth straight season in the top division, with new boss Frank de Boer aiming to turn them into a more possession-based team., external

It's now a case of seeing how well the players have adapted to a style that could hardly be more different to the one that kept them up under Sam Allardyce.

The cash has been splashed by Premier League clubs this summer yet there are bound to be plenty of names - and faces - you don't recognise when the season starts this weekend.

Some, like Wayne Rooney, you know all about. But what about Antonio Rudiger, Mohamed Salah and Florian Lejeune?

Head here to take the quiz

Crystal Palace v Huddersfield (15:00 BST)

A new face sits in the Crystal Palace dug-out - and there are a few new faces on the pitch too.

Dutch legend Frank de Boer immediately brings a continental feel to Selhurst Park with a three at the back system that was rarely - if ever - seen under predecessors Alan Pardew and Sam Allardyce.

Former Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald starts at the back, with Chelsea loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek in central midfield and Timothy Fosu-Mensah as the right-wing back.

    Palace XI

Huddersfield name four new signings in their first top-flight game since 1972. Record signing Steve Mounie - a £12m buy from Montpellier - starts in the lone striker's role, with keeper Jonas Lössl, defender Mathias Jorgensen and winger Tom Ince also making their bows.

Ince is the only player in the Terriers' starting XI to have previous Premier League experience.
