Liverpool's squad is about as deep as a puddle. They'll have even fewer options next time Sturridge sneezes and tears his ACL so they should take the Coutinho money and bring in two or three more quality players imo

    Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace

Palace are desperately trying to find a way back into this. This has been a much improved display by Frank De Boer's side after their heavy home defeat to Huddersfield but it looks as though they are going away empty handed unless they can produce a late equaliser.

It was the simplest of tasks for Mane.

I think we should credit Jurgen Klopp. He has basically stuck four up front and it has forced Palace back and opened up the midfield for Liverpool.

As far as Coutinho is concerned, he knew that his contract did not have a release clause. If he wanted one, his representatives should have negotiated on that basis. As I see it he doesn't have a leg to stand on. He should honour the contract and stay.

Loftus Cheek did brilliantly. Benteke should at the very, very least have hit the target.

  15. CLOSE!published at 57 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Crystal Palace

Christian Benteke wastes an excellent chance to give Palace the lead.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek does well to get the ball to the feet of the former Liverpool striker who is unmarked eight-yards out.

Benteke surely must score but somehow blazes over. A huge let off for Liverpool.

That was a really good save. Hennessey will have seen it very late and still managed to push the ball wide of the post.

    More frustration for the Reds.

A free-kick by James Milner sails over the bar before Wayne Hennessey denies Liverpool at full stretch and Firmino is then flagged offside as he follows up.

Jordan Henderson wins a midfield skirmish with Ruben Loftus-Cheek before Andrew Robertson delivers another dangerous cross into the area.

This time it's too close to Wayne Hennessey who is off his line to gather before the ball drops at the feet of a red shirt.

What is Jermaine Jenas waffling on about? How are Liverpool cutting their own nose off by refusing to sell Coutinho to Barca? No club needs the money these days. We'd rather have our best player than struggle to replace him this late in the window thanks. Might not suit the player but it suits us. We're keeping him.
