I watched Dean Hoyle, the Huddersfield chairman, taking it all in before kick-off.

He was being hugged by everybody here at the John Smith's Stadium and you could see the immense pride he has with this being Huddersfield's first ever home Premier League game.

The fans chanted 'Deano, Deano...' and he applauded them back. Incredible noise inside the stadium, with the sellout crowd in full voice.

Newcastle are defending quite narrowly, with their full-backs not looking to get forward.

Initially, Newcastle started very, very brightly, but Aaron Mooy is starting to get a hold on proceedings, controlling this game for Huddersfield. Mooy and Phil Billling are really impressive central midfield partnership.

He, like team-mate Chancel Mbemba, is OK to carry on.

Newcastle lost two players to injury in the first half an hour against Spurs last week.

Huddersfield have invested wisely in the transfer window, with the stand-out signing of course being Steve Mounie. But they have also retained the spine of the team.

Frankly, Newcastle as a club need to be competing with the likes of Huddersfield to sign the players to keep them in the top-flight.

There are still bargains to be had but at this late stage of the window it'll be, frankly, panic buys. or something decent in the loan market.

A bit of petroleum jelly applied and Chancel Mbemba is fine to continue.

We have our first save of the game.

A speculative 30-yard effort by Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy is easy for Rob Elliot to drop his body down to and collect.

We've had some technical difficulties here today. The press box is much smaller than at most other Premier League grounds, and it's absolutely packed... so much so that the power went down!

"Huddersfield will certainly have made a few people sit up and take notice following their impressive 3-0 win at Crystal Palace last weekend.

"It was the perfect start to life in the Premier League but head coach David Wagner was right to keep things in perspective.

"Still, the atmosphere will no doubt be at fever pitch at the John Smith's stadium on Sunday, and why not - 45 years is a long time to wait to play at home in the top flight.

"Newcastle are likely to be cagey and cautious opponents in this one. With Jonjo Shelvey suspended and both Florian Lejeune and Paul Dummett injured, Rafael Benitez would surely be happy with a first point of the new season."

Newcastle have had a bad start and Rafa Benitez is openly unhappy with the transfer policy. Huddersfield could not pick a better team to face today.

I'd advise the Terriers players to enjoy this, having secured promotion last season. A lot of Huddersfield players have not played away at Anfield or Old Trafford or the Emirates. They will naturally enjoy their time and will work hard to try and replicate their win from last week.
