Plenty of passing from City in the final third.

Fernandinho's low shot from outside the area is easy for Asmir Begovic to collect.

The Bosnian goalkeeper does the same on Sergio Aguero's shot a few seconds later.

Bournemouth are physically the bigger side so Manchester City don't want to concede too many set pieces - they will give something away.

Sergio Aguero on the ball for the first time and looks for a one-two with David Silva in the box.

Aguero goes down and looks to the referee, but he ran into Bournemouth defender Adam Smith and not the other way.

No penalty, says Mike Dean. Aguero feels he has been short changed by Smith.

Johnny Magrinho: De Bruyne is too creative, inventive & instinctive for his teammates - they can't keep up. He's too good for them. What a waste.

Nothing serious for Harry Arter, the Cherries is man back.

The home side shout for a free-kick as Vincent Kompany - already on a yellow - barges over Jermain Defoe off the ball. Nothing given.

Warned in the first half, City defender Nicolas Otamendi then goes into Mike Dean's book for an accumulation of infringements.

Bournemouth do not want to make this game too open.

It has been end to end this half but with the quality Manchester City have, they will eventually break Bournemouth down.

No disrespect to Bournemouth, but with this sort of squad, you would expect Manchester City to come here and get three points.

    Oooh.

Joshua King rattles the post with a left-footed strike from inside the area.

    Ederson was unmoved.

The chance came after Nicolas Otamendi put his team-mate Fernandinho in trouble with a sloppy pass which the home side could intercept.

For all their attacking verve, City are gettable at the back.

"Dan, Dan, Dan," Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe seems to shouting in Partridge-esque fashion.

Gosling is not listening as he is told to come closer to the left.

Gaps opening up for City which they can exploit, but they make a mess of this.

Kevn de Bruyne gets space down the left and feeds Bernardo Silva in the box, but the Portuguese get his feet tangled and cannot collect as the ball takes a nick off Charlie Daniels.

Belgian midfielder De Bruyne throws his arms in the air in disgust as his hard work comes to nothing.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 57 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Man City

Now Bournemouth do get a chance to go forward, but Joshua King is stopped in his tracks by an uncompromising Vincent Kompany challenge, who had not interest in getting the ball, but instead making sure King made no more head way.

A booking for Kompany for the foul and one for David Silva too for dissent.

City have set up camp in the Bournemouth half, searching for opportunities to unlock the home side's back line.

    Smash, have some of that.

Gabriel Jesus is protecting the ball near the corner flag, but in comes Bournemouth defender Steve Cook with a meaty challenge, taking both ball and man, sending Jesus tumbling down the road to Weymouth.

    A good, old-fashioned tackle.

The half time break has done Bournemouth good.

They are coming at the game with much more intensity now. Maybe not as much as the first ten minutes of the first half but still - they look more positive.

Poor, poor play by Raheem Sterling.

He breaks clear from the half way line into the opposition penalty area, but a heavy touch means he loses control and the ball runs out of play.

Manager Pep Guardiola slumps further down in his seat, rubs his eyes and chunters a few words in the direction of Sterling.

I am surprised Nathan Ake has emerged for the second half, not because of the niggle he suffered in the latter part of the first half, but in embarrassment at his performance for much of the 45 minutes.
