    Bournemouth 1-1 Man City

This should be two for City, he should have buried it.

Full-back Benjamin Mendy shows why the club made him the most expensive defender in the world with a well-weighted cutback to the back post for Gabriel Jesus, who inexplicably screws wide from seven-eight yards out.

Just did not get a good contact on it.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 24 mins

    Bournemouth 1-1 Man City

    Should it have been red?

Nathan Ake attempts a back pass to Asmir Begovic, but gets it horrible wrong and has to bring down goalscorer Gabriel Jesus.

Ake was the last man and Jesus would have been through on goal, but only a yellow brandished by Mike Dean.

Oh it was too easy for Man City to get through the lines of defense there.

Nothing too intuitive about it - just a quickly taken free kick.

    Gabriel Jesus

    Man City

It did not take them long, City are level.

    A quickly-taken free-kick is Bournemouth's undoing.

Gabriel Jesus lays it on to David Silva, who picks his team-mate out with an inch-perfect pass into the box.

Jesus holds off Nathan Ake and slides a low finish past the reach of Asmir Begovic.

What a superb pass that was from Silva.

    It should have been 2-0!

You would have put your house on Defoe scoring from that angle but it was a great save.

  8. CLOSE!published at 19 mins

Almost another for Bournemouth but Jermain Defoe's volley from Dan Gosling's cross is pushed to safety Ederson.

    City rocking.

While the strike made Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe jump out of the dugout in delight, counter-part Pep Guardiola is slumped in his chair, tugging at his bottom lip.

City look to get back on level terms straight away but Nicolas Otamendi shoots wide from a corner.

What a strike! I thought, to myself, "what is he doing striking from there!?"

An incredible shot. It took everyone by surprise!

    Charlie Daniels

Oh my goodness. PICK THAT ONE OUT!!

There looks to be little danger when Vincent Kompany heads out Dan Gosling's cross to the left edge of the penalty area.

The ball drops to Charlie Daniels, who smacks a sweet-struck effort into the top corner, via the crossbar.

    A stunning goal.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Man City

The first time we are seeing the bleach-blonde haired left-back Benjamin Mendy getting forward, Bournemouth's Adam Smith will have his work cut out today.

City's Kevin de Bruyne puts a low ball into the box from the left, which Nathan Ake stretches at and the ball gratefully lands in the hands of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Man City

The first 'come here, I want a word' signal from Mike Dean.

He calls City captain Vincent Kompany over, telling the City skipper that Nicolas Otamendi has already made four fouls in this match.

"There, there, there and there," Dean gesticulates.

He will probably go into the book for his next challenge.

Manchester City are at their most dangerous when they have just allowed the opposition have a chance.

Raheem Sterling looks like he has pace to burn today...

Lovely football from Bournemouth, leaving City scrambling.

It is Joshua King who starts the move off with a delightful turn in the final third before breaking clear, but after exchange a pass with a team-mate, King scuffs his shot and Vincent Kompany can hack clear.

If they lose, this will be third season in a row Bournemouth have lost their opening three matches.

Bournemouth have started on the front foot and gain a corner as Nicolas Otamendi clears away Harry Arter's free-kick, but they cannot clear the first man from the next set piece.

    Frustrating.

Dropped striker Sergio Aguero is sitting directly behind his manager Pep Guardiola in the dugout.

The Spaniard in the firing line there, might want to put a hard hat on.

Bournemouth are in much need of a win. They will want to try and go into the international break trying to get at least a point on the board.

It is a gamble to leave Sergio Aguero out of the Manchester City squad today. Pep Guardiola is clearly favoring Gabriel Jesus above Aguero at the moment but for me, the communication isn't quite on.

At the moment, Pep is adamant at playing one up front so there is competition from both of them.
