Bit of mystery here in the press box. No one has seen Sergio Aguero come out for the warm up.

How's he feeling about being dropped to the bench?

It was here in February 2016 (Bournemouth 0 - 2 Man City) when Gabriel Jesus got injured and missed two months of the season.

Aguero returned to the starting 11 and scored 15 goals for Man City between February and May.

At least Sergio Aguero will not feel cold while sitting on the bench at Bournemouth. It's sublimely sunny on the south coast, despite the autumn shadow looming.

The Cherries have failed to score in all five of their home league games against City.

They have also lost all four Premier League meetings, conceding 15 goals and scoring just one in reply.

    Cheers Matt.

No Sergio Aguero for City then, we saw last season Gabriel Jesus is the preferred man up top, but what an option the Argentine is off the bench...should they need him.

  15. 'Bournemouth have never beaten Man City'published at 11:21 British Summer Time 26 August 2017

Bournemouth v Man City (12:30 BST)

    Simon Brotherton
    MOTD commentator

Bournemouth have made a bad start and things aren't about to get any easier this weekend with the visit of Manchester City, whom they've never beaten.

A stuttering start isn't something new for the Cherries, who've lost the opening two games of the season in each of their three Premier League campaigns. City have won convincingly and scored freely in all four league meetings with an aggregate score of 15-1.

They were comfortable winners along the south coast at Brighton on the opening weekend and will fancy three more points here.

By the way, Sergio Aguero is on a run that has seen him score in each of their last seven Premier League away games. That's two short of Robin van Persie's record of nine.

Jermain Defoe is already a fan favourite at Bournemouth and the 34-year-old is expected to make his his first Premier League start for the Cherries.

We will have full team news at 11:00 BST.

What I'm liking about this picture is that it seems that Defoe has gone to one of those popular coffee shops where you have to give your name and they write it on the cup.

    Bet they spelt his right!

Sparkling sunshine on the south coast and as a fan of a Premier League club you can't ask for two better away games to start the season than Brighton and Bournemouth.

I sense a little bit of apprehension from the home fans today - if they'd taken something from their first two games then it would be easier just to see this as a 'free-hit', whatever we get is a bonus-type game, but no points and no goals from the first two Premier League games and a strangely lacklustre performance at home against Watford doesn't really allow that.

We've got full commentary on the game on BBC Radio 5 live with Mark Schwarzer as the match summariser.
