  6. McInnes expects 'passion' from Dons v Acciespublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 6 August 2017

    Aberdeen v Hamilton Academical (15:00)

McInnes has made four changes to the side that went out of the Europa League on Thursday with defeat by Apollon Limassol in Cyprus.

"We have tried to freshen things up in every area of the team, and I am really pleased we have got the options to do that," he said. "That freshness and enthusiasm will help but that responsibility falls on everyone.

"We need to decide what we want to be this season, if we want to be as competitive as we have been for the last few years. The challenge is there for us.

"A lot of the players only got to bed at 4.30-5am on Thursday night but I still expect plenty of enthusiasm and passion from my team today. We have to overcome the disappointment of the other night, and that has to show in the performance."

    Aberdeen v Hamilton Academical (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has offered an honest assessment of his side's hopes of improving on their runners-up position of the last three seasons, ahead of their Premiership opener against Hamilton.

"I don't think we will improve on our league position," he told Radio Scotland. "That is not easy for me to say, but I think Celtic will dictate that. If they play to the standards of last season, I don't think anybody else can get close to them.

"But at the very least we want to be the team closest to them, and try to improve our points tally. To improve on last season will be tough, but that is the aim."
