I would imagine that Uefa will take a very dim view of that incident of crowd trouble. Jordan Pickford has to make a save from a long-range shot but it's routine.

The police and stewards have done a very good job there, that looked close to being out of control but has quickly been contained.

Oh dear, this is not what you want to see. The Hajduk Split fans have thrown objects on to the pitch, stewards have had to get involved and in fact, the referee has paused play.

Ronald Koeman will be a happy man, his side have looked slick in possession and fluid in attack. They are lacking a number nine though in my opinion. I don't think Wayne Rooney can play right up front any more. Though he did of course score a brilliant header against Stoke at the weekend.

Baines skips into the area and stands up a lovely ball which takes goalkeeper Dante Stipica out of the game altogether, Keane is all over the defender at the far post and heads home powerfully.

I think Everton have over-bought. Surely Rooney, Sigurdsson, Sandro and Klaassen cannot all be kept happy with how many minutes they are getting?

Cuco Martina, one wonder goal aside, didn't get much of a look-in at Southampton but he has been a real threat down the right for Everton in these early stages. He and Leighton Baines are pushing high up the pitch.
AC Milan want to get this tie wrapped up tonight if they can. The Italian side are already 3-0 up against Macedonian visitors Shkendija at the San Siro.

The tempo is just faltering now, that Morgan Schneiderlin booking signalled a lull in play. Everton well on top though, patient build-up. And that's another good ball in from Cuco Martina, Wayne Rooney can't adjust his feet quickly enough to turn it on goal though!

Not everyone is convinced by Everton's transfer business.
With Lukaku sold and Rooney past his best, there's nobody to score goals. I put them in 7th or 8th place.

Another tasty challenge, Morgan Schneiderlin is late and high and he's in the book, rightly so. Just before that Cuco Martina whipped in a much better cross but there was nobody in the six-yard box waiting for it. Not Wayne Rooney's game.

Everton's match in the previous round was played at the tempo more akin to a testimonial or pre-season friendly. This is already much more competitive as Idrissa Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin both take a kick on the shins in midfield.

Brilliant ball from Kevin Mirallas from left to right to find Cuco Martina, he has all sorts of space and time but can't find a blue shirt with his cross. Disappointing.

Confidence is soaring among Everton fans - do you agree?
Klaassen is a great signing from Ajax at a great price. Koeman is a great manager and Everton could pip Liverpool and Arsenal for 5th or 6th. With Chelsea and Tottenham not looking as strong, they could challenge for 3rd, behind the Manchester clubs.
