GOAL - Everton 2-1 Apollon Limassolpublished at 66 mins

    Nikola Vlasic

Lovely finish! A really well-taken goal to put Everton ahead as substitute Nikola Vlasic gets his first for Everton. Gylfi Sigurdsson helps the ball around the corner to send Vlasic in, he is ice cool in front of goal and just passes the ball into the back of the net.

    Everton 1-1 Apollon Limassol

First chance in a while. Great ball in from Gylfi Sigurdsson, beyond almost everyone but Ashley Williams just about reaches it at the far post and shoots wide.

Jordan Pickford does well to come out of his area and chest away a long ball over the top, but it's still a frustrating scene ahead of him. Mason Holgate is temporarily the furthest man forwards before Wayne Rooney crosses from the left and there's not a blue shirt inside the penalty area.

Who would have thought that Everton would be missing Oumar Niasse? But they are. This team is crying out for a proper number nine. Half an hour to go.

Everton have had a near monopoly on possession since half time but Antonio Jakolis has a dig from a long way out which Jordan Pickford has to push away.

At the other end Nikola Vlasic weaves in from the left and pushes a shot wide.

    The new Milan?

AC Milan proved you can play a team full of playmakers (Kaka, Rui Costa, Seedorf and Pirlo). Maybe thats what Koeman is trying to recreate

Nikola Vlasic has moved out to a wide left position for Everton and he's almost in behind but Morgan Schneiderlin's pass over the top is too strong. Frustration again audible from the stands.

Instant tempo from Everton as they press from the front and force Limassol to clear rashly into touch. Jonjoe Kenny has started much higher up the pitch on the right-hand side, too.

Here is an attacking change - Nikola Vlasic comes on for Idrissa Gueye. Is that another number 10?

I've never seen a player upset the balance of a team quite like Wayne Rooney, and United had this issue. Too talented not to play, but doesn't actually play one position! Runs around and disrupts others positions. Without him United are flying!

    Not a fan Nick?

They are not exactly firing on all cylinders, I'd have to agree. What's missing Evertonians?

Nick Hughes: Good grief #EFC, external's style of play is abysmal; sideways or backwards & incredibly slow. Poor passing & bad defending

There's been a goal in the other game in Everton's group. Lyon have just taken the lead against Atalanta with Bertrand Traore scoring at the second attempt after his first shot was saved. It's half-time there now.

Please put me out of my misery even if it's obvious! Why are some teams in EL (and CL) group tables on here shown in bold? What does it signify?

    Kev in Portchester

You'll never, ever guess in a million years Kev. So I'll tell you. It signifies that that team has its own clickable page within the BBC website somewhere, and is a member of 'the big five' leagues.
