Jack Wilshere had looked the player most likely to create something for Arsenal all night and he started that move superbly. Olivier Giroud has barely had a touch but he found a class one when it mattered.

You have to say that's brilliant!

What a fine goal to open the scoring. Jack Wilshere pirouettes out of a tackle, plays a one-two with Theo Walcott and then flicks the ball over the top with a lovely little flick of the foot.Walcott heads it across goal, it falls for Olivier Giroud with his back to goal, and he flicks an improvised overhead kick into the top corner!

Did he entirely mean that? I think so...

Pista: Haven't seen Arsenal play this badly since.... Saturday

Paulc1989: Even as an Arsenal fan that's appalling from Coquelin. Never a booking/red card. He's a disgrace for making it look worse.

Peter: Arsene continuing to show that the only man in football he can totally outwit is himself

  5. RED CARD - Milan Rodicpublished at 80 mins

    Crvena Zvezda 0-0 Arsenal

That's harsh. Milan Rodic is shown a second yellow card as he goes up for a header with Francis Coquelin. He makes contact with Coquelin but it's not an elbow.

Arsenal with a good chance to take advantage now.

Olivier Giroud's best touch of the night tees up Jack Wilshere to run in on goal, he beats the first man but then gets ushered away from goal.

This is nil-nil, all the way now.

Arsenal's best chance to win European silverware in a long long time and he has no experienced seniors on the bench. Seriously, what's he playing at??

Into the last 20 minutes in Belgrade. The second half has not been anywhere near the same level as the first. It's all a bit one-paced now.

You know we told you a few moments ago Ostersund had equalised? Now they're ahead against La Liga giants Athletic Bilbao. And it is an Englishman who has put them ahead!

Curtis Edwards, a former Middlesbrough trainee who was playing in the semi-professional Northern League before moving to Sweden, drills in a 25-yard volley.

Skull: Wenger out of his depth in the Europa League. Playing players out of position never helps. He needs to go. Way past it.

AlabiAde: Perhaps it's time we give Theo's place to Chuba Akpom.

Strong running from Jack Wilshere, towards the edge of the box, Damien Le Tallec can't resist a nibble and he's in the book.

Brother of former Liverpool legend Anthony, in case you were wondering.

We have a goal in Group H. BATE Borisov have taken an early second-half lead against German visitors Koln, moving them a point behind Crvena Zvezda as it stands.

Swedish side Ostersund, managed by former Stoke and Birmingham full-back Graham Potter, have levelled against 2012 Europa League finalists Athletic Bilbao. The other game in their group is also 1-1, Hertha Berlin equalising at Ukrainian side Zorya.

Spanish side Real Sociedad are showing no mercy on Macedonian hosts Vardar - they have added two more goals since the break to lead 5-0. Brazilian striker Willian Jose has bagged four of them before - to the delight of the home defenders - being subbed on the hour.

Approaching the hour mark. Arsene Wenger has no senior players on his bench. Chuba Akpom to come on and nick one?

The first error Mohamed Elneny has made in defence - and it's a pretty bad one. He plays a blind ball across his own goal to play in Nemanja Radonjic, but Petr Cech is alive to it and pushes his shot over the bar.

Here's that Everton team in full, with midfielders Davy Klaassen and Tom Davies among those to come into the side, while Kevin Mirallas replaces Oumar Niasse with Everton having not registered the striker for the Europa League.

Former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay, who was linked with a move to the Toffees, starts for Lyon.

Great ball in, booming header by Nenad Krsticic - right at Petr Cech though. There's a good game on the brew here.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 49 mins

    Crvena Zvezda 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal have really stepped it up. Great pace by Reiss Nelson, scorching down the right, his cutback is miscued by Theo Walcott but Arsenal keep it alive, recycle it back in to Nelson, and his stinging shot is pushed away by Milan Borjan.

SHOOOT! So many touches inside the penalty area but Arsenal spurn a great chance. Into the box goes Joseph Willock, he doesn't pull the trigger and instead lays it off to Theo Walcott. It's a second good chance for Walcott tonight but he duffs his connection, dragging it across goal and Olivier Giroud can not make a clean strike at the back post.

    A real missed opportunity.

Straight away Mohamed Elneny has to be alert to come over and make an excellent sliding tackle to clear.
