Huddersfield make just one change with Rajiv Van La Parra - who was at the centre of a diving controversy after coming on as a substitute in last weekend's goalless draw with Burnley -in midfield at the expense of Adbelhamid Sabiri.

Tottenham make three changes from the side that beat Apoel Nicosia in Cyprus earlier the week with midfielders Moussa Sissoko and Son Heung-min giving way to Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli. Kieran Trippier fills in at wing-back for the suspended Serge Aurier after the Ivorian's red card against West Ham last weekend as Jan Vertonghen forms a three-man central defence.

Reports suggest, external Liverpool could be forced to play four games in nine days, including an away fixture against Arsenal on Christmas Eve.

It would be the first top-flight game for 22 years to be held on 24 December.

"If the supporters want to see a game on Christmas Eve then probably the television broadcaster will find a way to deliver it," Klopp said.

"If we play on December 24th I am not sure we can fight against it."

    "The Lactics?! Latics?!"

I can't get my head around why Clarence Seedorf, with all he's done as a player, would take the job. It didn't go well for him as a manager at Milan, it's slightly baffling. Where is the link? What does he know about League One and the players in that league? The fans will go wild, he'll fill the stadium up but what can he bring to Oldham in a relegation fight?

Update: We understand that Seedorf is not - and never was - considering becoming Oldham manager. He is friends with the club's owners and was invited by them to look at the structure and set up of the club.

The FA Cup is back this weekend!

Of the 880 players starting an FA Cup tie this weekend, few will have felt the emotions Nathaniel Jarvis has in the past few weeks.

The forward scored a hat-trick against Knaphill in the last round to help secure sixth-tier Bath City a home tie with National League South rivals Hemel Hempstead Town.

Jarvis, 25, plays his international football more than 4,000 miles away for Antigua and Barbuda - an area devastated by Hurricane Irma.

  19. 'Ridiculous to go to Amsterdam'published at 10:52 British Summer Time 30 September 2017

    Aguero injury

    Sergio AgueroImage source, Getty Images

Here's former Tottenham manager Martin Jol on the Aguero situation: "You have to support your player to the outside world and then you have to tell him what you think privately. They have to focus on the games.

"I had the same situation with Luis Suarez when he bit someone [when they were both at Ajax], I had to support him, but it was ridiculous to do. This was ridiculous to do, to go to Amsterdam on a Thursday.

At Spurs you couldn't go out after a Wednesday. It's far fetched. For anyone in football it's a bad example. It won't happen again - if you allow this then players will be at concerts all over the world. It's eight or nine grand for a private plane to get to Amsterdam and they have all the money in the world."
