It's half-time but it's all over as a contest, if it ever was a contest really. We are halfway to a seventh defeat and a seventh failure to score for Palace.

The only real question is can United match City's 5-0 win over the Londoners last Saturday?

Louis van Gaal bought 13 players during his two seasons as Manchester United manager.

It is interesting to note that even though the Dutchman left Old Trafford less than 18 months ago, for the third Premier League game running, not one has made Jose Mourinho's starting line-up.

Sir Alex Ferguson bought five - De Gea, Valencia, Young, Smalling and Jones. David Moyes two - Mata and Fellaini. Jose Mourinho three - Lukaku, Mkhitaryan, Matic.

Van Gaal did give home-grown Marcus Rashford his debut.

United go close to a third again. Romelu Lukaku's header from Juan Mata's cross goes to Marcus Rashford. The forward tries to beat Wayne Hennessey at his near post but the Welshman saves with his foot.

Then Henrikh Mkhitaryan lashes a volley wide.

Almost 3-0 as Chris Smalling heads Henrikh Mkhitaryan's corner wide from close range. I wonder what Roy Hodgson can say to his players at half-time to turn this round.

Marcus Rashford is having an excellent game, a backheel finds Romelu Lukaku. The striker plays the ball back to the England international but his cross is cut out.

Andros Towsend crosses from the right but Palace have no aerial presence in the centre and Antonio Valencia can chest the ball down to David de Gea under no pressure.

It's pretty wet in Manchester, unsurprisingly. Jose Mourinho was drying his head with a towel after that goal.

Sorry about that Palace fans.

Marcus Rashford plays a pass to Henrikh Mkhitaryan with his shoulder. Palace will probably be happy enough to just be 1-0 down.

Palace are playing a bit better now to be fair, finding a bit of confidence, and Bakary Sako forces a save from David de Gea from the corner of the box. Ambitious.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan flicks the ball excellently over a defender's head but his pass forward to Romelu Lukaku is poor and doesn't reach the Belgian.

Antonio Valencia heads a cross out and Palace have a fourth corner.

Juan Mata's free-kick is held by Wayne Hennessey.

Just checked the stats - Palace have completed fewer than 60 passes so far.

There has been a lot of talk this week about the distribution of the Premier League's overseas TV rights.

England's 'big six' - Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham - want a bigger cut of an expanding pile of money, believing they are the ones who attract the huge global contracts that have made the Premier League the richest domestic competition in the world.

Unsurprisingly, a majority of the top flight are resistant to the idea and, with a vote due to be taken on Wednesday, it is interesting that Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore has come here rather than attend Chelsea's game against Manchester City.

Scudamore is in the directors' box, although not sitting close to United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Now they have another corner. But Yohan Cabaye's cross is cleared.

I don't think Palace have actually had a run of passes in a row. Luka Milivojevic gets the ball but his long pass to Bakary Sako is out of play.

As I write that they play a few passes and Yohan Cabaye wins a corner.

Palace get the ball for a second after a poor Chris Smalling pass - and then lose it again straight away. They really don't appear to have much going for them.

Andros Townsend intercepts a pass and runs back into his own box instead of clearing, conceding a corner under pressure from Marcus Rashford.

United are looking so comfortable. It's almost like a training game. Plenty of passing around defence and midfield without being put under any pressure.
