I wholeheartedly agree. Brighton look lacklustre.

Dusan Tadic is left in loads of space as he receives the ball from Sofiane Boufal.

He takes a hit which deflects off a Brighton player and out for a corner.

The corner comes to nothing and the hosts might break here...oh, no. They don't. A wasted opportunity, you feel.

Sofiane Boufal tries to wriggle free from his defenders to send a ball into the box after the short corner.

The ball is whipped in eventually but Shane Duffy nods away the danger.

Glenn Murray rolls his eyes and gets jeers from the away fans after he mucks up a header he was trying to put into the path of Brighton team-mate Anthony Knockaert.

Southampton regain possession and after a patient build-up, Cedric Soares races up the right and we have the first corner of the game.

Rejoice.

In fairness to Saints, away from home their shape is good and they have been defensively strong - Fraser Forster has not been tested in goal yet.

James Ward-Prowse has Beckham-esque delivery from set-pieces and it's his wonderful free-kick which creates the goal.

Always good to have a defender sitting next to you in the press box though as Nedum Onuoha points out that Pascal Gross doesn't stick with Steven Davis after the free-kick is taken and Davis is standing all alone as he heads in the rebound.

We have two players down after a an off-the-ball incident between Dusan Tadic and Brighton's Gaetan Bong.

It happened behind the referee's back so no action is taken.

Sofiane Boufal is down now and Neil Swarbrick waves play on again. The Saints fans aren't happy about that.

Pascal Gross tries to find Glenn Murray waiting in the centre of the box but his ball reaches Southampton legs first and they scramble clear.

At the other end, Manolo Gabbiadini tries to latch on to a long ball over the top but is ruled offside.

Southampton take their turn to play keep ball - for the first time in a while.

As you can see, it's been Brighton who have had the most possession so far.

Brighton players are getting on the ball but then they don't seem to have an 'out'.

Brighton earn a throw in after Southampton clear their lines, but the Seagulls end up with possession in his own half. Sigh.

Another throw in from Bruno sends Anthony Knockaert's tricky feet into action but the ball is snatched from him by Ryan Bertrand and Sofiane Boufal.

Southampton's Ryan Bertrand gives the ball away by trying a little dummy flick.

In an attempt to win back possession, he then bundles into Pascal Gross and gives away a free-kick, about 40 yards out.

Anthony Knockaert whips it in and Davy Propper heads into the hands of Forster.

Safe hands from Fraser Forster, the Southampton keeper, as he catches a speculative Bruno ball into the box.

This is all very conservative. Very cagey.

That is until Jose Izquierdo makes a lovely weaving run but can't quite get the ball to a waiting Glenn Murray.

Now Southampton attack but Lewis Dunk clears the danger at the other end.

Brighton continue to build patiently.

Anthony Knockaert tries to feed to Pascal Gross but the Brighton forward makes a heavy touch and he's dispossessed by Southampton.
