  1. Should Deeney be banned?published at 12:56 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2017

    Watford 0-1 Stoke

Watford's Troy Deeney was at the centre of a right old ding-dong with Stoke's Joe Allen during the Potters' 1-0 win on Saturday.

Both players were booked for the incident and Stoke boss Mark Hughes believes Deeney should receive a harsher punishment for his 'face-grab' on Allen.

"Clearly we kicked the ball out and the right thing to do in the spirit of the game is throw it back." he said.

"Deeney, the captain of the club, should know better but he shaped to play it into our box and that's why Joe reacted.

"More often than not those situations get revisited by people in authority and decisions are made as a consequence."

Hammers keeper Joe Hart was emotional after Palace fought from 2-0 down to snatch a draw in stoppage time.

"Joe was fantastic yesterday - he was phenomenal. That's the Joe Hart we know. I felt for him at the end because he would have grabbed all the headlines."

  3. A joy to watchpublished at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2017

    West Brom 2-3 Manchester City

    Alan Shearer
Former Newcastle striker on BBC Match of the Day

We are seeing something very special, Manchester City are playing at a new level. Thirty-five goals after 10 games...in 2011 under Roberto Mancini they had 36 after 10.

But against West Brom we saw a new record...844 completed passes. It's a joy to see and it must be a joy to play in this team.

  4. City on the chargepublished at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2017

    West Brom 2-3 Manchester City

Played 10, won 9, drawn one, lost nil, scored 35, conceded six.

It's fair to say Manchester City's start to the season has not been rubbish.

It was a little close for comfort on Saturday, after West Brom nabbed a quick equaliser and then a late second, but the league leaders still prevailed 3-2.

Here's what Pep Guardiola had to say about their eighth consecutive league win.

  5. 'You get Mourinho in to win'published at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2017

    Man Utd 1-0 Tottenham

    Joleon Lescott
Former England defender on BBC MOTD2 Extra

United got Jose Mourinho because they wanted to win. You don't get him in to play like Barcelona, you get him to win. Once they are back to winning ways they can start to play with style. They won trophies last year.

His defensive record is second to none. They don't aim to score three or four every game. The comparisons for City and United is hard for Mourinho, as they don't try and play the same style of football.

Southampton make three changes from the side that started in the 1-0 win against West Brom. Defender Maya Yoshida and forward Shane Long move to the bench, while Mario Lemina is injured.

Sofiane Boufal, who scored a sensational winner against the Baggies, defender Wesley Hoedt and midfielder James Ward-Prowse come into the XI.

    Manchester United 1-0 Spurs

    Danny Murphy
Former Liverpool midfielder on Match of the Day

I actually think Jose Mourinho likes being miserable. It's hard because United's neighbours City are playing such expansive football.

It's not as easy as it looks to play defensive football yet United have the best defence in the league.

  8. Mourinho's messagepublished at 12:33 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2017

    Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham

As the final whistle went at Old Trafford yesterday, Jose Mourinho decided it was the ideal time to send a message to his critics.

The Manchester United manager looked down the barrel of the camera and put his finger to his lips.

His explanation as follows: "Some people speak too much.

"Calm down, relax a little bit. Don't speak too much, speak, speak, speak, relax. Relax a little bit, don't be so nervous. Don't be so excited."

  11. 'They didn't look phased'published at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2017

    Joleon Lescott
Former England defender on BBC MOTD2 Extra

They look like they've been told to express themselves. And that is what they did. They weren't phased at 2-0 down. They kept pushing forward.

Comparing them to Spain's setup, their clubs have B teams playing in the lower leagues which helps. That is something we need to look at to develop our kids.

Senior players would always try to help young players. Phil Foden is highly-rated at Man City. He trains with them every day. The natural progression is if they can perform every day.

    England win U17 World Cup

You know how England are always rubbish at major tournaments? There may now be hope.

After World Cup success for England Under-20s, the U17s have followed suit.

The Three Lions beat Spain 5-2 in the World Cup final in India on Saturday, coming from two goals down to lift the trophy.

The celebrations were just incredible. Remember their names...
