    West Ham 0-1 Leicester

West Ham have had their first shot, it is one that will not make the 2017-18 season highlights package.

Midfielder Pedro Obiang screws an effort horribly wide from 25 yards out, it barely had the legs to roll out of play.

That gap between the defence and midfield is absolutely killing West Ham. Riyad Mahrez is having a field day.

One minute Harry Maguire is under pressure in his own box and then two or three passes later Leicester are on the attack.

Leicester may as well have started with a wheelie bin in goals, Kasper Schmeichel has had an easy Friday night so far, nothing to do.

    West Ham 0-1 Leicester

Leicester are full of confidence now, knocking the ball around with purpose. Another goal for them and it could be game over, you know.

The Foxes get a corner but Riyad Mahrez and Demarai Gray make an awful mess of their short set-piece routine.

Back to the training ground, lads.

That's West Ham's and David Moyes' fears recognised. It came from a well worked throw-in.

I feel Winston Reid needed to get closer to Jamie Vardy before he crossed. There was a little deflection off Angelo Ogbonna but it's a good finish by Marc Albrighton.

    Leicester

    Oh no.

West Ham's bright start comes to nothing, Leicester score with their first attack, in fact it is the first shot in the game.

Midfielder Wilfred Ndidi wins the ball in the middle of the park and sets Jamie Vardy through down the left channel.

The striker cuts it across into the box - past Angelo Ogbonna who falls over - and in comes Marc Albrighton to slide home a finish from 10 yards out.

Pressure piling on David Moyes already.

A very good start for West Ham. A lot of the time it's not technical or tactical - it's just hard work and getting in peoples faces.

"There can't be many managers who have to stand on the touchline listening to cries of 'sack the board', 'you're not fit to wear the shirt' and 'you destroyed our club', while watching their first match in charge end in ignominious defeat.

"But that was the background to David Moyes' hostile baptism at Vicarage Road last Sunday. Judging by his post-match comments,, external the fans aren't the only ones hoping for more from the players.

"The reaction on and off the field at the London Stadium will be interesting, with Leicester providing the opposition for Moyes' first home game.

"The Foxes didn't manage a single shot on target last week against Manchester City but are unbeaten in their last four away matches."
