On dropping Mark Noble: "I just wanted to bring in a bit more speed in the wide areas. We want to see if we can get quicker support up to Andy Carroll."

On Leicester: "Everybody knows their speed on the counter attack. They have really good individuals in Riyad Mahrez, Demarai Gray is playing well as well, and you need to be on red alert for Jamie Vardy."

Essex Police's Force Control Room said on Twitter:, external "Ringing 999 because West Ham have lost again and you aren't sure what to do is not acceptable."

It's going to be a very tough evening for West Ham. This Leicester team is sharp, they have so many dangerous individuals. I think Leicester will be really up for it.

David Moyes is still getting to know his payers. He'll get a better understanding of those who are up for it and those who don't fancy it.

I didn't see any difference really against Watford. As soon as they went a goal down heads dropped and the fans completely disowned them.

That whole thing about players standing up and being counted... it's time now.

This game sees manager David Moyes take charge of West Ham at the London Stadium for the first time.

The Scot has failed to win any of his 10 Premier League home fixtures in 2017 (drawn four, lost six). The record for most home games in a calendar year without a victory is 11, set by Mick McCarthy 12 years ago.

Man on a mission is the on the front page of the West Ham programme tonight.

Inside, Moyes says, "all I can promise you is that I will work as hard as I possibly can and do everything within my power to get this great football club back on track as soon as possible."

It feels as if Moyes is up for the challenge. But, there is a lot of negativity around the club at the moment.

The fans I spoke to on the concourse earlier said they are fully behind him. Although, if Leicester go in front that could change.

West Ham are third from bottom on nine points. A win tonight will lift them out of the relegation zone.

  13. Do October/November sackings work?published at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 24 November 2017

The international break that straddles October and November - the sacking season, a time for managers to be fearful.

At least so the theory goes. Enough matches have been played for owners to be sufficiently concerned by poor starts, while the two-week break gives a rare window to find a suitable replacement.

Four Premier League managers lost their jobs during those months this season - Craig Shakespeare (Leicester), Ronald Koeman (Everton), Slaven Bilic (West Ham) and Tony Pulis (West Brom) - taking the overall 2017-18 tally to five.

But is there really increased managerial upheaval at this time of the year? And does making a change work? We've assessed some of the numbers to find out.
