Ravi Lachireddy: I think every team is playing to City’s strength by defending deeply. City’s midfield is key to the team’s creativity and goals and if teams can work on cutting the flow, they may have a chance or else at this rate, they will be champions by mid of Feb.

Pep Guardiola on injured defender Benjamin Mendy running down the touchline: "Mendy is crazy. He has a six month injury - and he is running. Disaster!"

  4. 'I made a mistake and I've apologised'published at 22:34 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    Chelsea 1-0 Swansea

    Chelsea

On being sent from the touchline...

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte: "The problem is I was frustrated because the opponents were wasting time. I tried to tell this to the fourth official not only once but a few times.

"But I have apologised because I did the wrong thing. I have been in to see them after the game. It’s right to speak and apologise with them.

"I don’t know if it was fair [to be sent off] but we have to respect this decision. Sometimes there is a lot of frustration like in this case but sometime you can make a mistake and I did this."

David Unsworth: “I had 10 minutes with Sam Allardyce at Finch Farm this afternoon. I’m sure I will have a more in-depth conversation.

“I’m going to return to my role with the under-23s and the Academy.”

We’ve just spoken to Antonio Conte down here in the tunnel and he was apologetic after his sending off. He’s been in to see the ref and fourth official and apologised to them for his behaviour, he admitted frustration got the better of him.

Good to hear a manager admit he was in the wrong.

He's out with a long-term knee injury but Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy was running/hobbling down the touchline to celebrate that late Raheem Sterling winner.

The medical team will be fuming about that...

  8. 'Clear goal-scoring opportunity'published at 22:26 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    Stoke 0-3 Liverpool

    Stoke City

On Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet avoiding a red card at 1-0...

Stoke manager Mark Hughes: "It is clearly a goal-scoring opportunity, there would be down to 10 men and it is a completely different game.

"From that point we are trying to get back into the game and we had to take risks. Overall we are disappointed, but we got back into the game after a slow start.

"If we play with that determination and drive in our play we will be all right. It is clearly a massive game coming up against Swansea."

More from Sean Dyche speaking to Match of the Day, on beating Bournemouth on Eddie Howe's 40th birthday: "Eddie knows it is business, nothing personal for sure - we took a knock on Sunday but I believe in my team's mental strength and first half in particular we were excellent.

"This is an awkward place to come, they have done fantastic work for a few years. Overall I don't think (goalkeeper) Nick Pope had a lot to do.

"Burnley fans have had tough times in the past, the fans are an important part of the club. They have got to enjoy these moments - it's what it is about."

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino: "It is hard to digest but we can be proud today. We are really competitive. We couldn't hold out.

"We have to use this type of game as a reference to grow as a club and a team and we can see the future in an optimistic way. We compete in every single game.

"Until the end you can never say it is done. We were really close. My players did everything."

  13. 'Like a training game'published at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    Everton 4-0 West Ham

    Leon Osman
Former Everton midfielder on Radio 5 live

I didn't expect that West Ham team to turn up tonight. I expected them to make a go of it and get the crowd turning against Everton, but it was like a training game in that first half and it was only when they brought on Diafra Sakho that they actually started to create.

  14. 'Positive signs in second half'published at 22:18 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    Everton 4-0 West Ham

West Ham boss David Moyes to BBC Sport: "Not good in the first half but a massive improvement at half-time. We didn't deserve that final score. Mistakes cost us.

"The missed penalty [at 2-0] was the turning point. It looked too difficult a challenge once we didn’t score it. We never really got at it from the start. We allowed them to get a bit of confidence.

"The [Everton] penalty changes it, it’s poor defending from us. Their goals were too easy to score. Joe [Hart] kicks it and Wayne [Rooney] scores from the halfway line. We made our own mistakes. We want to set the team up to be hard to beat and that wasn’t difficult [for Everton] tonight.

"It’s what Wayne can do. He’s always got goals in him and technical ability. He’s got the knack of being in the right place to score goals.

"I think we saw some positive signs in the second half. It didn’t go for us when we needed it. There were a lot of small things we needed to go for us."

  15. 'It is beautiful'published at 22:16 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    Manchester City 2-1 Southampton

More from Pep Guardiola: "It was happening 50 years ago. Their striker was marking our defensive midfielder so it was 10 men behind the ball all the time.

"I believed that we could score but to be honest I thought it was over. They defended for 90 minutes, they had a really good go against Liverpool so I wasn't expecting them to play like that tonight.

"Raheem is a match-winner, I am so happy for him. He is special, it was an amazing goal. It is more than important, it is beautiful."

  16. 'An astonishing end to the game'published at 22:13 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    Manchester City 2-1 Southampton

    Manchester City

Man City boss Pep Guardiola on MOTD: "It was an astonishing end to the game. It means a lot. They had 10 guys in the box, it was so complicated to attack them.

"They had chances in the first half, all the teams are better than us at set-pieces. They are stronger than us but we kept patient.

"At the end our momentum kept going, Raheem scores a fantastic goal.

"What impresses the most is the heart with which they play. What happened in the locker room was amazing. You have to enjoy these situations, you never know what will happen in the future. We want to win the league but you have to celebrate when you score in the last breath like that.

"I was telling Nathan Redmond how good he is at the end. Southampton have some super talented players, Redmond is so good one against one. But they didn't' want to play, they were time wasting from the ninth minute. I just wanted them to play."

  17. 'Rooney captain for a reason'published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    Everton 4-0 West Ham

Everton caretaker boss David Unsworth to BBC Sport: "It’s a great night, not for me but for the club. Every player was committed. I asked them to be men tonight. If you can stand up there and fight in times of trouble, that says a lot.

"Great hat-trick, great display from Wayne. He was captain for a reason. I’m delighted for the club. I took over when we were in the bottom three and we’ve got out of it in the six weeks.

"We expect more. The players have shown tonight that when they are confident, we can keep clean sheets and score goals. Goodison must be a fortress for the rest of the season if we are to finish in the top half.

"I spoke to Sam Allardyce for about 10 or 15 minutes about the season in general, but I picked the team.

"Wayne has played in midfield before. He feels and sees that might be his role moving forward. Especially when he plays like that.

"I’ll go back to what I was doing [as under-23 boss]. That’s not a problem. I have a wonderful job and it’s a privilege to do it.

"We must back the manager. We wish him well."

  18. 'We remain mentally strong'published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    Arsenal 5-0 Huddersfield

    Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield boss David Wagner, speaking to BBC Sport: "If you are to get something out of these games you have to put our opponents under pressure and score. Goals change games.

"It isn't a surprise it is getting difficult in the Premier League, it was difficult from the beginning. I think we can still be satisfied with the position we are in at the moment. To lose against Arsenal as Huddersfield Town away from home it isn't a surprise.

"We have learnt from our experiences on Sunday and today. We have had two defeats, they probably shouldn't be a surprise to anybody but we learn from these defeats and we are mentally strong enough to put this behind us."

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, speaking to BBC Sport: "We started well but then we lost our focus and our passing and allowed them to come back into the game.

"Then we got the second goal and suddenly everyone played with more freedom and more technical quality - then Mesut Ozil showed what he can do."
