    Huddersfield 2-0 Brighton

Within a couple of minutes Brighton have caused more danger in the second half than they did in the first. First a dangerous cross has to be headed away with Izzy Brown lurking at the back post before two Huddersfield players get in the way to block a shot from Pascal Gross.

  2. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

    Huddersfield 2-0 Brighton

A change at the break. Ezequiel Schelotto, who had fewer touches than any Brighton outfield player in the first half, is replaced by Solly March.

Loser92: Perhaps the Terriers will survive in the Premier League after all this season. They don’t try to entertain the fans, but on their day they are well organised and can grind out results.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2017

    Huddersfield 2-0 Brighton

That couldn't have gone much better for Huddersfield and David Wagner. Steve Mounie, recalled to lead the line today, has two and the home side are comfortable.

  6. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Huddersfield 2-0 Brighton

The perfect time for Huddersfield to score just before the break. There'll be two minutes added on.

  7. goal

GOAL - Huddersfield 2-0 Brightonpublished at 43 mins

    Steve Mounie

Huddersfield have breathing space and it again comes from a corner. The first delivery is cleared but Aaron Mooy recycles the ball well and crosses deep from the left. The ball is headed back towards the edge of the six-yard box where Steve Mounie is unmarked and heads home for his second goal of the game.

Mounie did well but he's given a big help from Brighton 'keeper Mat Ryan. The header was low but tame and Ryan lets the ball spill through his grasp.

  8. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

Huddersfield are not afraid to get players in attacking areas. They have four men in the box as Aaron Mooy crosses from the right and Bruno is forced to head behind for another corner.

This time the near-post cross is dealt with well by Brighton. The game has gone a little scrappy.

  9. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

An interesting difference in the method of attack from Huddersfield (left image) and Brighton (right image). The visitors are really struggling to get hold of the ball in the middle of the pitch. They put a decent delivery in early on for Glenn Murray, when the striker was offside, but since then they've created little from the wide positions too.

Wayward from Tom Ince. The winger has now attempted 33 shots without scoring in the Premier League this season, more than any other player. This one is from right of centre on the edge of the box but is way wide of the left-hand post.

    Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

A minute to forget for Dale Stephens. Twice the midfielder passes the ball straight out of play in quick succession. Not good.

  12. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

Groans from the home fans as Aaron Mooy tamely gives the ball away in midfield. That encourages Brighton to come forward but the move is well defended by Huddersfield. Brighton are playing with Pascal Gross right up along side Glenn Murray but neither have had much of a look-in so far.

  13. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

The free-kick is played short from the Terriers and it comes to nothing. Brighton need to get their foot on the ball. The home side are well on top.

  14. Postpublished at 26 mins

    Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

Better defending this time. A similar delivery - whipped low to the near post - but Brighton hoof the ball clear. Now Brighton's Bruno has bundled Elias Kachunga over. Huddersfield have another chance to put the ball into the box.

  15. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

All of Huddersfield's home wins this season have come by a one-goal margin but they're not sitting back. Aaron Mooy feeds Collin Quaner down the right and the latter's cross is put behind for another corner.

    Huddersfield 1-0 Brighton

Chris Hughton looks stern-faced on the touchline after his side conceded that early goal. That is just the eighth Brighton have let in away from home. They've made a decent response. Izzy Brown races down the left against his former club but the ball is well cleared.

A bit of a scramble but Pascal Gross' corner comes to nothing.

For those of you that remember it, the move for that goal was very similar to the one Huddersfield used for their goal against Man City recently. A near-post corner, flicked on, only that time it was turned in by Nicolas Otamendi for an own goal. It is clearly something David Wagner's side work on.

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Final Score

When I played I used to have good spring and when I played under Graham Taylor for England my job used to be to run to the front post and flick on the corner.

You very rarely see that these days but it was perfectly executed there.

  20. goal

GOAL - Huddersfield 1-0 Brightonpublished at 12 mins

    Steve Mounie

A well-worked corner and Huddersfield are in front! Chris Lowe's delivery is flicked on at the near post by Christopher Schindler and the ball is diverted into the path of Steve Mounie at the back stick. The striker could hardly miss and deflects the ball in for his first goal since the opening day of the season!
