  5. 'We just have to keep winning games'published at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2017

    West Brom 1-2 Man Utd

    Manchester United

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera, speaking to BBC Sport: "We should have controlled more of the game in the second half because in the first half we played really, really well.

"We have to control the game more when we are 2-0 up. We can be happy but if we want to keep winning games we have to look at that."

On Romelu Lukaku: "It is a good thing. It means he wants to score, he wants to improve. He wants to be the best. When he doesn't score he does a fantastic job. We are a team, we cannot give Lukaku all the responsibility to score the goals. We have to help."

On title battle: "We won three titles last season, which was very good. It is true that the top of the table is difficult to reach right now but this is Premier League, you never know. Our aim is just to keep winning games."

  6. 'I didn't pick the right starting line-up'published at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2017

    West Brom 1-2 Man Utd

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom manager Alan Pardew speaking to Sky Sports:

"There was better shape to the team and better legs in the second half. The team I picked in hindsight was not the best team. I should have maybe made two or three changes.

"We looked leggy and not up to the ball. There was a lot more conviction in our play after the break. We never really got the crowd going. They were quiet - we had to get them going. We have to take risks. We have to take risks with our passing. We had a lack of energy.

On Ashley Young's challenge on James McClean in the area: "It looked like a penalty when he was banged out of the way."

On the inclusion of Oliver Burke: "He showed them flashes that you can see. Some of his knowledge of his game he has to improve. He tried to give me what I wanted but it didn't unfold team-wise."

  7. 'It is about getting to know each other'published at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2017

    West Brom 1-2 Man Utd

    West Bromwich Albion

West Brom manager Alan Pardew, speaking to BBC's Match of the Day: "They found it far too comfortable for us, when we have a full house here. I made a mistake with the team. I wanted to show faith after the game at Liverpool but should have brought fresher legs in. I have to accept blame. Our conviction wasn't there first half in terms of passing. In the second half we started putting balls in the box to test them. A finish where we could have got something from the game that could have flattered us. Lessons learned for myself and the team today.

"It is about getting to know each other. We don't have time for this process. We have a massive game with Stoke. Fortunately we have 18 games to go and I will lean on that.

"The dressing room is such a place that you can get your message over fairly quickly. I have some quality not available. Barry and Brunt made a big difference. I have one or two more coming back. We have a lot of work to do."

  8. 'Maybe Lukaku saw that his manager didn't celebrate'published at 17:21 Greenwich Mean Time 17 December 2017

    West Brom 1-2 Man Utd

    Manchester United

United boss Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC's Match of the Day: "West Brom can score a goal in a set-play against anyone. They are really strong and aggressive. They can put teams under pressure. We had so much possession though.

"We knew a situation [of them scoring] can arrive. That came and lifted the stadium and gave them belief they didn't have until then.

"We had the ball well and finished the game without any pressure.

"They had a fantastic manager in Tony Pulis and now in Alan Pardew."

On Romelu Lukaku's lack of celebration after scoring:

"[Joking] Maybe he looks to the bench and sees his manager doesn't celebrate.

"Maybe he loves West Brom. Maybe he remembers the team that helped him early in his career.

"I will celebrate if my team scores a winning goal in the last minute. But you have to have more maturity and keep your feet on the ground. If some guys want to be kids until the last day of their careers or if they want to act to the cameras then they can. But if we score an important goal then I can do anything."

Great save by Begovic. I bet he couldn't believe the ball came straight at him. It was a nice bit of play but an even better save.
