  1. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 3-2 Liverpoolpublished at 58 mins

    Mesut Ozil

    Make it stop!

What a crazy, crazy, crazy game! Liverpool have fallen apart now! Mesut Ozil plays it into the feet of Alexandre Lacazette, his backheel is brilliant back into the German's run and he clips it over Simon Mignolet and into the net.

    Four goals in SIX minutes!

  2. 'This game should be done'published at 21:01 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Arsenal 2-2 Liverpool

    Jermaine Jenas
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Jurgen Klopp must be doing his absolute nut, because this game should be done.

  3. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 2-2 Liverpoolpublished at 56 mins

    Granit Xhaka

    Keeper! What a game...

Granit Xhaka has been having a poor game but he's pulled one out of the fire, thought this has to be filed as a Danny Baker Christmas blooper.

Xhaka takes aim from a good 25 yards, hits hit hard with his left foot, loads of movement on the ball but Simon Mignolet should save it. It's in the middle of the goal, he tries to punch it with one hand and the ball whizzes into the net.

    Three goals in four minutes!

  4. 'Liverpool so clinical'published at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Arsenal 1-2 Liverpool

    Jermaine Jenas
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

It all started down the left side again, a mix up between Alexis Sanchez and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, leaving right hand side for Liverpool completely exposed.

Salah takes his time, it is a lovely finish, the way he opens up his body, it gives Petr Cech no chance. Arsenal were all tracking back and doing their best, but Liverpool were so clinical.

  5. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 1-2 Liverpoolpublished at 53 mins

    Alexis Sanchez

    Lifeline!

Just as you were thinking that this could get really ugly for Arsenal they find a way back in to the game, Hector Bellerin whips in an early cross, Joe Gomez has a nightmare at the far post, he waits and waits and waits for the ball, Alexis Sanchez doesn't, dives in and heads through Simon Mignolet's legs.

  6. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 0-2 Liverpoolpublished at 52 mins

    Mohamed Salah

    Brilliant.

Well, it's wonderful attacking play from Liverpool but it's also so easy, Arsenal are spineless.

Liverpool win the ball back 15 yards from their own goal, it's played to Mohamed Salah who carries it down the line, before finding Roberto Firmino.

Firmino spins and plays a great ball back into the run of Salah, who is not tracked at all. Jack Wilshere is nowhere near him. Salah gets the shot away, it takes a deflection and curls into the bottom corner.

  7. CLOSE!published at 50 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

Alex Iwobi now goes close to an own goal, tackling his man on the edge of the area and seeing the ball squirt wide! Liverpool so close to a second.

  8. 'Cech to the rescue'published at 20:52 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

    Jermaine Jenas
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

That was an unbelievable counter attack from Liverpool - Petr Cech coming to the rescue once again.

  9. CLOSE!published at 48 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

Better from Arsenal as Alexandre Lacazette gets away from Joe Gomez and wins a corner.

But it's Liverpool who nearly score from the corner, which was delivered horribly by Alexis Sanchez. Liverpool counter, Mohamed Salah shoots low and it's well saved by Petr Cech...

Aidan Curran: I’m a Liverpool fan but Arsenal’s display makes me angry. These guys need to have some professional pride and make an effort. Liverpool should be 4 goals ahead.

Harry Winter: Klopp will be reminding the squad of the dominance in the Everton game........

Kaushik Gorai: Liverpool performance wise are right up with Man City. If only they had been consistent, it had been a two horse race between Liverpool and Man City.

  11. 'Arsenal lucky to just be one down'published at 20:49 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

    Jermaine Jenas
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

Arsenal are very lucky to just be one down. Liverpool have completely dominated the game, created all the chances and worked harder.

If Arsenal haven't just had a very big second-half team talk from their manager, I would be very surprised.

  12. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

    Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

Away we go! I'm on to my second mince pie of the game. Christmas has started.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

Shkodran Mustafi is on at the break, he replaces Nacho Monreal with the words of Steve Bould ringing in his ears.

I was expecting a change in shape with a midfielder coming off but that must be an injury for Monreal.

Yullaw: Mane - the only one without brains in the fabulous four

Kuni: What is Mane doing? There is no need for that finish trying to make headlines and not score goals. Could have brought that ball down easily and slotted it.

Arsenal fans, Shkodran Mustafi is coming on by the looks of it.

Mat VP: Takeaways from that half. Arsenal version 1) Ozil & Sanchez = Gone. Fine when winning, useless when losing. 2) Koscielny = Finished. (Sadly) 3) Monreal = Not a CB. 4) Iwobi and Bellerin = Failed potential. 5) The squad is very unbalanced. (See centre mid for proof)

Chad Hawsman: Ecstatic we're at half only 1-0 down. Arsenal have been horrid.

  18. 'Lifeline for Arsenal'published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

    Jermaine Jenas
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

That is Arsenal's lifeline, the fact it is still 1-0. They have been poor, they really have, but they have the opportunity to get back into it.

Liverpool have been good but haven't been at their best - I've seen them much better.

I'm looking at who is going to stand up for Arsenal. These fans at the minute are very unforgiving and letting their feelings known.

It's been really poor and lackluster from an effort point of view. It's crying out for a change of formation, as it's going this is going to end up 3-0 or 4-0 to Liverpool.

  19. How big a moment?published at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 22 December 2017

    Arsenal 0-1 Liverpool

Should have been 2-0 to Liverpool. The way he's been going you'd fancy Mo Salah to score this - but his shot was pretty tame and straight at Petr Cech.
