Swansea caretaker Leon Britton to BBC MOTD: "I’m sure there’ll be some fresh faces to come in, but it’s down to this group of players to get out of it.

"If we perform like we did in the second half, it will be a long second half of the season. We need a new manager and some new faces to lift the place. It worked last year. But we need to make sure we don't get cut adrift."

Swansea City

Swansea caretaker boss Leon Britton on BBC Radio 5 live: "After we conceded the second goal we made so many mistakes, it's unacceptable. It's difficult when the game is going like that but you have to face up to it and take responsibility. I'm part of it, of course it's the players out on the pitch.

"The second-half hurts a lot more, when I see that second-half performance it hurts an awful lot. It's difficult seeing it after being at the club for so long. After the second goal the heads went down but you are still professional. You have to keep going. You have to give everything you've got."

Any update on the next manager: "I've not heard nothing, I've got no update. It's just me until I'm told anything different."

Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to BBC MOTD on Trent Alexander-Arnold: “It’s fantastic. His mother told me last week that on Boxing Day the whole part of the family from America would be there. I asked 'is that an order for him to be in the line-up?' *Klopp shrugs his shoulders and laughs*

"First half, like the whole team he could have done better but he was fantastic and scored a good goal. Good news for the family Alexander-Arnold."

Liverpool again played pretty well in the first half. Swansea worked hard but Liverpool stepped up in the second half and were fabulous going forward. There were sparkling in the final third when they were attacking and could have had more goals.

It sums it up for Swansea that they had one chance and it was with the last touch of the game. Nothing went right for Swansea and they are in big, big trouble.

This Swansea team are not going to stay up unless they acquire players in January. Liverpool, on the other hand, look like they can score against anyone.

Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on BBC Radio 5 live: "After 55 minutes it was brilliant, before that it was work. It was not easy. The last half an hour was fantastic, a joy to watch, a very deserved win.

On making progress: "I know that people are often not patient enough as it's all about results. It's possible from outside to think it's not quick enough, we feel really good in this moment. Five minutes in the Arsenal game was not good but the performance was good. We drew. For tonight, we feel really good."

On Adam Lallana getting some action: "Good to have him back. He needs time and he's not the most patient person. We tried to give him as many minutes as possible. We want him around and in the team."

Only Paris St-Germain (89) and Manchester City (77) have scored more goals in the big five European leagues this season (all competitions) than Liverpool (75).

Liverpool

Liverpool goalscorer Trent Alexander-Arnold to Sky Sports: "It's a dream come true to score at Anfield, especially to win. I’ve scored two goals away from home but it's good to get one at Anfield, especially at the Kop. I had a few family members here."

On what Jurgen Klopp said to him at full-time:

"He was really happy with the goal. I got an elbow to the face at one point and he said I had to get back up unless I had a broken nose.

"The performance could have been better, especially in the first half."

Liverpool

Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was not happy with his performance, despite his goal and the big win.

He told Sky Sports: "I was a bit disappointed with myself today, although I’m happy to score. When the chance came at the end I was happy to put it away.

"In the first half we did OK and we stepped it up in the second half.

"I just want more out of myself. I could have done better with my end product a few times. Overall it could have been better.

"I just want to keep pushing myself on to do better. It’s important for me [to score]. Today it [the goal] wasn’t so crucial as we were leading by a few but I need to keep doing that. There were some great goals today. We defended well overall."

Sule Sadiq: This Swansea downfall all started when they disgracefully sacked Laudrup so I have no sympathy for them. Serves them right.

Alex Booth: Based on this performance I simply can't see Swansea staying up. Disorganised at the back and clueless up front

A five star performance for Liverpool sees them blow away the Premier League's bottom side Swansea.

Swansea have a chance deep in injury-time, but Tammy Abraham's looping header is acrobatically pushed over the crossbar by Simon Mignolet.
