    Philippe Coutinho bossing this game.

He runs free from the left, passes to Roberto Firmino in the middle of the park but the Brazilian drags a shot wide.

    Liverpool 1-0 Swansea

Liverpool have dominated this game, but only have one goal to show for it.

At this stage, Swansea still have a chance...if they get an opportunity to put some pressure on the Reds backline.

Not like that though, Martin Olsson's cross drifts right across the box from one end, for a throw-in at the other.

The final ball for Swansea is a real problem for them. Without someone who can pick out a special pass, it was Gylfi Sigurdsson last season, there is no one to pick that pass even when it is on.

    Liverpool 1-0 Swansea

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had a slow start since joining Liverpool in the summer from Arsenal.

He has improved in recent months, but he will want to forget about the latest effort at goal, striking a drive miles over.

Coutinho doing his best here to get that Barcelona move. I wonder if he will play like this if he doesn't get it.

    Jay (Conisbrough)

Regardless of whether he stays or goes, Phil you've got our hearts forever. Proper footballer.

We are not talking a lot about Swansea right now, but there is a reason for that, they are not getting a touch of the ball.

In a similar position from which Philippe Coutinho scored, fellow midfielder Emre Can gets the ball at his feet and looks to curl a shot at goal, but this one is comfortable for Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

    Needed more fizz on it.

Richard Page: There could have been a title race if Klopp bought a defence last summer.

Would Liverpool be 20 points better off with a good defence?

The gangly Oliver McBurnie finds space inside the Liverpool box for the first time, but is forced wide and strangles a shot at Simon Mignolet.

McBurnie doesn't look like a footballer, he looks more like.......

Are Folks suggesting Coutinho is “clearly off to Barcelona” in the same we he was “definitely” going to be unveiled in Spain last August?? Dear me.

Philippe Coutinho has been handed the captain's armband today and is ON IT so far.

The Brazilian collects the ball, looks up and delivers a cross towards Mohamed Salah at the back post, but the Egyptian cannot grow enough to get his head on it.

Salah is 5ft 9in, he would have headed that in if he was 6ft.

Leon Britton's side just cannot hold the ball in midfield.

If only the Swans had someone on the bench who could make use of possession...

Harry Winter: Coutinho is close to irreplaceable - keeping him is more important than making any January transfers

Sean: Coutinho wow. Another beauty from outside the box! What a player... Knows he’s leaving at end of season but unlike Sanchez, gives his all for the team & maintains top attitude and performance.

It's a wee bit scary for Swansea now. On the break Liverpool are astonishing. Without playing out of their skin Liverpool have put themselves in a position to score three goals, it's not difficult for them to get through that Swansea defence so far.

It is going to be a long evening for Swansea.

Liverpool cutting open Swansea with ease, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino involved again with some quick, slick passing.

This time the Brazilian cuts the ball back into the box, it evades everyone, but full-back Andrew Robertson comes in with a slices shot which goes a yard wide.
