They say there's no room for sentiment in sport - and certainly not in the important area of score predictions, where our BBC expert Mark Lawrenson takes on Olympic sprint gold medallist Darren Campbell this week.

Lawro backs Bournemouth to end their nine-game winless run with a 2-0 success, while Campbell tips Everton to triumph 1-0. That's despite his sporting links with Dorset - Campbell played non-League football for nearby Weymouth for a year in the mid-1990s while taking a break from athletics.

There may be similar divided loyalties on BBC Radio Solent this afternoon - regular Cherries summariser John Williams, a popular defender here in his playing days, was born in Liverpool and is a lifelong Evertonian.

Eddie Howe was upbeat on his side's prospects today, focusing on what pleased him from their draw here with West Ham on Boxing Day.

"A lot of our performance against West Ham was positive, although we didn't win the game," he said.

"But if we play like that again today, with energy and tempo, I think the result could be different."

Sam Allardyce could record his place in Everton history on the south coast today.

If the former England manager can guide his team to a draw or win he will become the first Toffees boss to go his opening seven Premier League games unbeaten.

Eddie Howe's priority is obvious: halt the decline of a defence which has conceded 11 goals in their last three games.

At the same time he must hope they can create the chances which will breach a miserly Everton back four and haul his side out of the bottom three in the process.
