But the towering defender can only head over the Watford crossbar.

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Hearing that Molla Wague goal was ruled out because the ball went out of play from the corner... did think there didn't look much in the push.

  4. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Swansea get the opportunity to break and Jordan Ayew slips seamlessly into top gear and accelerates into the Watford half.

His dangerous ball is cleared behind for a corner, but the delivery is well taken by Heurelho Gomes.

  5. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 53 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Another lovely move from Watford as Tom Cleverley and Ben Watson combine in the middle before the ex-Manchester United man clips a deft ball into the box.

It goes over Richarlison's head, but Watford keep it alive.

Stefano Okaka shakes off his marker in the box, fizzes a low drive back across goal and it's cleared for a corner.

Molla Wague heads in from the delivery. But his effort is ruled out for a push. Wasn't much in that.

  6. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

    Chance for Watford.

It's Tom Cleverley with a twinkle-toed touch to release Richarlison down the left and the Brazilian winger flashes a low ball across the face of goal.

Stefano Okaka slides in to the six-yard box like Paul Gascoigne against Germany in Euro 96... with the same result.

The Hornets forward just can't get a toe to it.

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Tammy Abraham runs out of room on the right.

He twists and turns, but eventually takes the ball out of play.

The England forward has had little to work with this afternoon.

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

A bit better from Swansea, who look like they have come out to attack.

But now Watford look dangerous on the break. Good hold up play from Stefano Okaka brings in Richarlison, who dinks a right-footed ball into the box.

    Swansea survive.

Swansea City's fans have had a rough time of it lately and the reasons for their anger are not confined to the pitch.

As well as being bottom of the Premier League, the Swans have been beset with off-field issues such as the continuing discontent about the manner of last season's American takeover of the club.

The travelling supporters at Vicarage Road have been chanting "We want Jenkins out" directed towards Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins, who said this week he would consider resigning if things keep getting worse.

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Who was that Brazilian youngster who used to balance the ball on his head like a seal?

    Kerlon!?

Stefano Okaka pulls off a similar move as he nods the ball up and down about four times before flicking it on to another player in yellow.

Swansea have plenty of players back behind the ball though, and deal with the threat.

  14. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

There was a stat flying around earlier in the season about Abdoulaye Doucoure scoring with pretty much every effort on goal.

    Not this time.

Watford do well to work some space for the midfielder on the edge of the box, but he drags a right-footed effort well wide of the Swansea goal.

I'm not sure what Row Z is in Portuguese, but Renato Sanches has just found it.

The Bayern Munich loanee has a chance to deliver a deadball from the left-hand side of the box, but shanks his right-footed effort high, wide and not at all handsomely into the Hertfordshire sky.

  16. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Richarlison has the run on Kyle Naughton as Daryl Janmaat flings in a deep, floating cross.

The Brazilian out-leaps the Swansea right-back like an Olympic high jumper, but can only head straight at Lukasz Fabianski.

Easy save for the Swans stopper.

  17. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Watford haven't really looked like adding to their lead, but Swansea have not looked like getting back into it either.

A side void of any confidence, it seems.

Marvin Zeegelaar bursts on to a neat flick from Richarlison on the left of the penalty box for the hosts, but cannot pick out a yellow shirt with his cross.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 33 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

The Swans somehow get a corner from a throw-in that Watford fail to deal with properly.

Chance now to throw a few players forward...

No, you'd think they were 1-0 up in the 90th minute. Just the four men in the box and the visitors opt to go short, before losing it.

Tom Carroll grabs a nice handful of Abdoulaye Doucoure's shirt to stop a Watford break and adds his name to the list of bookings.

  19. Postpublished at 31 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Well, Swansea get the free-kick in a decent area and you'd think they'd fill the box, wouldn't you?

Instead they just send four men forward and Watford easily deal with Renato Sanches' floated delivery.

  20. YELLOW CARDpublished at 30 mins

    Watford 1-0 Swansea

Nearly a chance for Watford to open up Swansea, but Tom Cleverley's touch is poor and it's the visitors who break instead.

Andre Carrillo is forced to bring down Jordan Ayew, and gets a booking.
