  4. League Two latestpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 26 September 2017

League leaders Notts County aren't the only side to have scored an early goal in League Two.

Colchester took an early lead over Grimsby through Kyel Reid, but their leaky defence allowed JJ Hooper to equalise two minutes later. It's 1-1 at Blundell Park.

Yeovil lead bottom side Chesterfield 1-0 thanks to Southampton loanee Olufela Olomola's fifth league goal of the season.

Lincoln City, who are looking to bounce back from two defeats, are 1-0 up over Barnet with a goal from Ollie Palmer.

    Bristol City 0-0 Bolton

    Brendon Mitchell
    BBC Sport at Ashton Gate

These two teams have had very different starts to 2017-18 - Bristol City have lost only once, while Bolton are still winless - and that's been reflected in the starts both have made tonight.

The visitors, sitting in out of possession and looking long when they have it, have at least limited City to just a half-chance for Bailey Wright in the opening 10 minutes.

But, providing the Robins' early confidence and control doesn't wane, more opportunities will surely follow.

    Cardiff 0-0 Leeds

The hosts set up the first goalmouth action of the night, after Junior Hoilett is fouled by Luke Ayling on the left wing for Cardiff. Hoilett's resulting free-kick is dangerous, but is punched away by Felix Wiedwald.

But Wiedwald collides with Pontus Jansson in the process. Ouch.

    Cardiff 0-0 Leeds

There's plenty of noise ringing around the Cardiff City Stadium in the opening exchanges.

Both these sides have reason to be confident - they've both had excellent starts to 2017-18 and sit pretty with 20 points from a possible 27.

    Wednesday: Sheffield United v Wolves

Wolves - who are level on points with both Leeds and Cardiff - have the night off but will be keeping a close eye on proceedings in south Wales.

If tonight's match between their two closest rivals ends in a draw, a win for Nuno Espirito Santo's side at Sheffield United tomorrow would take Wanderers top of the Championship.

We'll have live text coverage of that match, as well as Birmingham v Sheffield Wednesday, on the BBC Sport website and app from 19:15 BST tomorrow.

But first, to tonight's action - the teams are in the tunnel at the Cardiff City Stadium...

    League Two preview

There's a very tasty-looking fixture in League Two as well, where Notts County and Exeter City meet.

The two sides, in first and second place, have almost identical records after nine games. They've both won seven, drawn one and lost one to pick up 22 points. The only thing separating them in Notts County's extra goal scored.

Kevin Nolan's side perhaps have the edge, however. They are unbeaten since the opening day of the season and have conceded just one goal in their past five matches - all of which they've won. Exeter, on the other hand, lost 2-0 last time out to Coventry City.

The biggest tie in League One concerns leaders Shrewsbury Town, who play Doncaster Rovers looking to keep their title as the only unbeaten side in the Football League.

Few would have predicted Paul Hurst's side to be flying high with seven wins and two draws from their opening nine games, but Town have upset the odds, enjoying their best start to a season in almost 40 years.

Meanwhile, there are also two sides playing tonight without managers. Gillingham take on Scunthorpe with director of football Peter Taylor at the helm after Ady Pennock's departure, while bottom side Oldham, who saw John Sheridan leave on Monday, have first-team coach Richie Wellens in the dugout for the visit of Peterborough.
