  1. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    Hull City 0-0 Nott'm Forest

Jarrod Bowen has seven goals already this season and seeing him in full flight there you can see why.

So direct for Hull, with good footwork and pace but his cross shot was dealt with.

Then a searing cross from Seb Larsson gets Hull in behind Forest but Kamil Grosicki couldn't get a clean strike on it.

    Hull City 0-0 Nott'm Forest

Forest are looking to get in behind Hull with those quick balls forward over the top - that time it was an easy one for Allan McGregor to mop up.

They're also stretched wide on both flanks, that will be where the threat comes from I feel.

    Hull City 0-0 Nott'm Forest

Relief for Nottingham Forest as Michael Mancienne nods it away calmly.

It will be interesting to see how the two teams approach this. Cool and calm? Or an early frantic flurry?

Hull get a free-kick within 30 seconds of the kick-off in a good position.

Plenty of dangers in that Hull side from set-pieces...

  5. KICK-OFFpublished at 1 min

    Hull City 0-0 Nott'm Forest

After the usual pleasantries, a minute's applause for the late Hull legend Les Mutrie, and a loud, resounding roar around the KCOM, we are underway.

Hull City to kick-off. We're off.

Michael Dawson leads out the Hull side in black and amber while on the opposite side Michael Mancienne is the Forest skipper.

The KCOM Stadium looks pretty bathed in the floodlights as the light fades. The last EFL game in "British Summer Time" awaits us.

    Kick-off is mere minutes away.

Hull City have enjoyed the home comforts of their KCOM Stadium, particularly when it comes to banging the ball in the back of the net.

They have racked up 18 from just six games, including blow-out victories against Burton, Bolton and Birmingham.

That turnaround has lifted them from 17th to 14th, two points behind Forest and six points off the play-off places.

Key to their hot streak at home has been Fraizer Campbell, who has scored three goals in the past four games. Go on Fraizer, lad. Roar like a proper Tiger.

While Nottingham Forest's form has so far been mixed this season, one shining light has been Scottish winger Barrie McKay.

No player has been involved in more Championship goals from open play than the ex-Rangers wideman's five assists this season, and he's also got three goals of his own to cherish.

I expect he'll receive a bit of attention from Hull's defence this afternoon as he goes about his waspish ways.

The big loss for Nottingham Forest is Daryl Murphy. The Republic of Ireland international forward has been sensational. He, Danny Fox and Armand Traore miss out.

Kieran Dowell, Tendayi Darikwa and Joe Worrall come in.

Hull City make two changes, Barnsley goal hero Fraizer Campbell, and David Meyler replace Nouha Dicko and Kevin Stewart respectively.

Michael Dawson, who began his career at Forest and was one of two Dawson brothers to be on the books of both clubs along with Andy, starts at centre-half.

Hull City: McGregor, Aina, Clark, Dawson, Hector, Myler, Larsson, Henriksen, Bowen, Grosicki, Campbell

Subs: Marshall, Tomori, Stewart, Irvine, Diomande, Dicko

Standing in Hull's way are a Nottingham Forest side who under Mark Warburton have been both sublime and ridiculous from week to week.

Recent defeats by Fulham and bitter rivals Derby sandwiched an impressive victory against in-form Sheffield United.

Will the real Nottingham Forest please stand up?

    Pattie and chips

    Grazie, James.

Kingston-upon-Hull is the destination for our final game of the day, where 'no' becomes 'nerrr', pattie and chips are quite literally "out of this world" (see above), the phone boxes are white and where Leonid Slutsky is finally starting to sort out the city's football team.

Hull City AFC turned around a five-game winless run to take seven points from the past nine, scoring eight goals in the process.

Well, what do you expect from a man like Slutsky? His own football career was ended after he injured his knee while saving a cat from a tree. He is now helping the Tigers begin to purr again.

It's come to nothing, and Brentford have the points - having done it the hard way.

Goals from Nico Yennaris and Romaine Sawyers were cancelled out by Preston's Sean Maguire and Tom Barkhuizen respectively.

But Ollie Watkins scored what proved to be the winner - there was no coming back from that one.

    Preston 2-3 Brentford

Some may be surprised by this scoreline, given the positions of the teams in the Championship table, but listen to this...

Before today, the Bees had had 39 more shots than any other Championship side this season (234).

They're on the verge of an impressive result, which would move them six points clear of the bottom three.

They've just entered six minutes stoppage time at Deepdale, where Brentford look reasonably comfortable.

Having said that, they've already given up two leads so will need to be careful.
