The referee's whistle goes again, this time for a cheeky handball by Ines Jaurena, looked more instinctive than anything intentional.

Very stop start game so far.

    France v England (20:00 BST)

France will be keen for revenge tonight after England beat them for the first time in 43 years to reach the semi-finals of Euro 2017.

Striker Jodie Taylor was England's match-winner, clipping in after being set up by the excellent Lucy Bronze.

Will the two combine again tonight?

The players are out on the pitch. Almost time for kick off.

Fancy having a bit of a natter? Feel free to send your views on tonight's game to #bbcfootball.

Don't be confused when you head to the hashtag and see pictures of dogs on skateboards. That's because my colleague Neil Johnston is asking for animal football photos for the West Ham versus Brighton live page. Natch.

You can follow that game here.

Too late. You, sadly, have just missed Paul Young's floppy fringe and instead will be greeted with the cue card teeing up tonight's game. Nice relaxing music they are playing, mind.

Anyway. Here are the teams. Toni Duggan, Jodie Taylor and Karen Carney form an attacking front three for England, who are without Fran Kirby.

  15. 'New beginnings'published at 19:33 British Summer Time 20 October 2017

    France v England (20:00 BST)

This game has been overshadowed by striker Eniola Aluko's dispute with the Football Association over racial discrimination.

On Wednesday, the FA apologised for comments made to Aluko by former England women's manager Mark Sampson.

"It's been really difficult for everybody," interim head coach Mo Marley said. "When you work with people, and people are part of the team for such a long time, you build up personal relationships.

"It's quite easy for me to come in and explain that with changed management there are so many different emotions, and it's for me to help manage that, understand where people are at - but also help them focus on the new beginnings which is Friday."

In a week where much of the focus surrounding the England women's team has been with off the pitch matters, the players will be glad to get down to playing football as they embark on a new era.

The Lionesses takes on France in a friendly in Valenciennes tonight. Will it be a winning start for interim coach Mo Marley?
