    Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 USA

That flurry of goals means that while the United States are heading for a pretty embarrassing defeat, they are still going to qualify in third place in the group.

It will be Panama in the play-offs against Australia, as it stands...

Panama are one of the teams that can stop the United States, but they have just gone behind at home to already-qualified Costa Rica.

Johan Venegas is the man celebrating. He has every reason to as it is a lovely goal. He is clean through, the Panama keeper comes off his line but Venegas dinks the ball over him and Costa Rica lead.

  14. How they standpublished at 01:27 British Summer Time 11 October 2017

    1. Brazil 38 points
    2. Uruguay 31 points (goal difference +11)
    3. Argentina 28 points (goal difference +2)
    4. Chile 27 points (goal difference +2)
    5. Colombia 27 points (goal difference +2)
    6. Peru 26 points (goal difference +1)
    7. Paraguay 25 points (goal difference -5)

Only a miracle will see Uruguay fail to advance from here. Chile are currently drawing 0-0 in Brazil, which will be enough as long as Colombia, Peru or Paraguay don't score.

Paraguay are drawing against bottom of the table Venezuela, with it goalless between Peru and Colombia, with the latter currently on course for that play-off with New Zealand.

  15. goal

GOAL - Trinidad & Tobago 1-0 USApublished at 01:23 British Summer Time 11 October 2017

    Omar Gonzalez (OG 17 mins)

Not a good start for the States at all as they go behind to an early own goal, Omar Gonzalez tries to clear a cross and can only slice past Tim Howard.

The USA are still through as it stands.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 01:17 British Summer Time 11 October 2017

    Ecuador 1-2 Argentina

So far, so good for Argentina. They are heading to the World Cup as it stands thanks to guess who?

    Yep. Lionel Messi.

  17. goal

GOAL - Uruguay 2-1 Boliviapublished at 42 mins

    Edinson Cavani (Uruguay)

Gaston Silva scored the own goal to put Uruguay behind, but he has made amends with two assists in three minutes to give his side a 2-1 lead against Bolivia.

He set up Martin Caceres for the equaliser and then played a part as Edinson Cavani moved Uruguay 2-1 ahead. Silva is free down the left wing and floats in a cross and Cavani is unmarked in the box and heads past Carlos Lampe, although the goalkeeper should do better.

Time to celebrate for Uruguay. They look to be heading to the World Cup.

    Ecuador 1-2 Argentina

The needle is not confined to Brazil as Enner Valencia almost gets involved in a red card within seconds of coming on. He clatters into the back of Marcos Acuna, who throws an arm into the sub's face. Valencia could have made more of that.Acuna is then late moments later. Steady one!

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 40 mins

    Brazil 0-0 Chile

Some Premier League rivalry in Brazil as Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho clatters into Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, earning the Brazilian a yellow card. Sanchez is OK to carry on, much to Chile's relief.

  20. goal

GOAL - Uruguay 1-1 Boliviapublished at 40 mins

    Martin Caceres (Uruguay)

An equaliser for Uruguay and it is defender Martin Caceres who gets it.

Southampton fans may remember his stint with the club earlier this year, with him making one appearance before being released in May.

Gaston Silva shoots across goal and Caceres is in the right place to prod the ball into the net from 12 yards out.
