    Barnsley 2-0 Birmingham

Birmingham manager Steve Cotterill saw his side plunged deeper into trouble down the bottom end of the Championship after a 2-0 defeat at Barnsley.

Blues have still only found the back of the net eight times in 16 Championship games this season and sit third from bottom.

"I thought the players worked hard today," Cotterill told BBC WM. "I thought they put a shift in today and worked hard.

"I don't think that's got anything to do with the result today, I don't think we got out-worked by them.

"The players aren't sky-high with their confidence at the moment. We're at a big club with big expectation and we've got to deal with that."

What a chance for Pierre-Michel Lasogga!

The Leeds striker is put in on goal by a Andy Lonergan punt. He tries a delicate lobbed finish on the bounce, but sends it way over the bar.

Liam Cooper is extremely lucky not to get a booking - or even a red card. The Leeds captain over-runs the ball before lunging in studs-up on Nico Yennaris. The referee missed the challenge entirely.

Leeds look disjointed in attack so far. This time it's Ezgjan Alioski who is guilty of wasting the ball, cutting inside from the right only to drift a harmless cross out of play.

At Villa Park, Steve Bruce saw his side fall behind after just 20 seconds when Sheffield Wednesday's Adam Reach netted the opening goal.

Jordan Rhodes added a second for the Owls in the 2-1 win and Chris Samba's stoppage time goal came too late to rescue anything for the hosts.

"I don't think I've ever been one down after 20 seconds," Bruce confessed to BBC WM.

"It was a wonderful goal by the boy, but it was an awful start compounded by a couple of injuries. I took a gamble on Robert Snodgrass, but you could see he was in discomfort from some bruised ribs.

"We think John Terry's injury is a broken metatarsal and he's in hospital now having the scans. It doesn't look so good at the minute."

Nottingham Forest recorded an impressive win at home to QPR.

Tyler Walker started and finished the scoring for Mark Warburton side with Everton loanee Kieran Dowell on the scoresheet yet again as well as being involved in two goals.

"We created a lot of chances against a very good QPR team, that's a very pleasing performance," Warburton told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"I'm delighted for the players to get their rewards before the international break. When we move it quickly and don't take an unnecessary touch, we look very, very good.

"We can't get carried away with one game, we have to get consistency in our results.

"Players have to be patient, we communicate very well with them and the environment is very good at the club."

Oh no, oh no, oh no. That is utterly terrible from Andy Lonergan, who shells a looping cross from Yoann Barbet straight to Neal Maupay who heads into an empty net.

    Brentford 0-0 Leeds

Pontus Jansson, sporting gloves and short sleeves, has started well for Leeds, reading play well to break up Brentford attacks.

Leeds have grown into the game, with only a few poor decisions from Samuel Saiz preventing them from unlocking the Bees' defence.

Sticking with that goal-fuelled game at Pride Park, Derby manager Gary Rowett wasn't going to let his side off the hook for their first defeat in eight games.

"We didn't start great. We didn't get close enough," he told BBC Radio Derby.

"I'm not going to make excuses, it just wasn't good enough. We created a few chances in the second half, but again we just concede stupid goals.

"If you want to achieve anything in the Championship, you have to move on very quickly."

Brentford are dominating. John Egan's lovely switch of play set up a move down the left-hand side, but Neal Maupay's shot on the turn was blocked by Pontus Jansson.

However, the balls comes out to Ollie Watkins, who draws a good stop from Andy Longergan from distance.

  15. Reaction: Terry among Villa injury worriespublished at 17:45 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2017

    Aston Villa 1-2 Sheffield Wednesday

Aston Villa fell to a 2-1 home defeat against Sheffield Wednesday earlier, but the afternoon may prove more costly than just the loss of three points.

John Terry was forced off after just 21 minutes and here is the latest assessment....
