    Bristol City 1-1 Manchester United

Aden Flint gets the whole crowd on their feet by holding off Romelu Lukaku and then taking the ball deep into enemy territory. He wins the free-kick too.

Matty Taylor chops down Lukaku as he looks to break away and Paul Pogba is furious, miming a stamp. It wasn't, and Pogba is booked for his reaction.

People are down on this cup but so far these quarter finals have only been won by the odd goal, all tight games.

With any 20:00 GMT kick-off, you won’t find many writers in the press box hoping for extra time, with print deadlines and long journeys home.

But as a neutral, another 30 minutes of this sounds terrific. It’s been exactly how you’d want a good cup tie to be played.

    More, please.

Jack Clarke: Bristol City haven't sat back and it's made the game so much better.

Gary Dempsey: Daley Blind wouldn’t get a game for Bristol City. Fact !!!

Benjamin Lee: Shame Chelsea scored, Bournemouth and Bristol City going through would make this a much nicer competition.

David Lawton: This is a joke, we can’t score against Bristol city. Embarrassing!

    Bristol City 1-1 Manchester United

That's a brilliant save! Luke Steele again. Got down really well to push away a low Romelu Lukaku hit.

Are we on for extra-time at the Gate though? Sergio Romero is a touch flappy at a cross but pushes it away for a corner.

    Eight minutes left.

Jamie Paterson has hit the back of the net from that range quite a few times already this season. That was a big chance. The home fans are used to seeing him bury those.

It looked a goal all over that. Great save by Luke Steele but a really nice move from United.

This is a fine game too, 15 minutes to go. Romelu Lukaku steers a header into the bottom corner and Luke Steele makes a flying save, before at the other end Jamie Paterson fires over!

Extraordinary. Scrap that call for extra time! Chelsea have now surely won this as substitutes Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata combine and the Spaniard scrambles in from close range.

    Drama!

It was a lovely backheel from Hazard to make the goal.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2017

    Bristol City 1-1 Manchester United

Great passage of play. Luke Shaw releases Marcus Rashford with a peach of a pass, outside of the foot, into his run.

Rashford has a man over and is only stopped by a brilliant sliding tackle from Joe Bryan, who then gets up, clears down the channel and is chopped down by a frustrated Rashford.

    Clear booking.

Bournemouth pushing hard for a leveller which they probably deserve on the balance of play.

    Can they force extra time?

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:29 Greenwich Mean Time 20 December 2017

Decent save from Luke Steele, down to his left and right in the corner, as he beats out a shot from Romelu Lukaku.

You can't argue with the attacking players on display for the holders at the moment...
