Inevitably, Bristol City are going to have to carry on working this hard all night long.

But they usually do. It’s one of the reasons why they’ve only lost three of their 26 games in all competitions this season.

There's always that surprise element with a lower league team. I don't think Mourinho will have paid too much individual attention to the Bristol City players.

I know everyone always says this - far too often in football coverage - so forgive me, but honestly, this atmosphere is genuinely absolutely fantastic. The place is vibrating.

This time it was Kenedy who made the move forward. The movement of Chelsea's attackers caught Bournemouth out. Cook got drawn out of position and it was a simple tap-in for Willian at the far post.

Michy Batshuayi's movement and lay-off was great. It was a fine team goal. Chelsea deserve to lead.

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "It's great for the city, brilliant for the fans and massive for this group of players. I'm delighted for them - to showcase themselves against some of the best players in the worlds.

"It's a very strong United team which means we've been respected so we'll give it a go.

"They're full of internationals but were at home; we know our pitch dynamics and acoustic.

"It's 11 humans v 11. Make no mistake once the boys cross the line they'll be at it and do anything we can to win the game.

"But we won't get away with any of our players having less than an eight or nine out of 10."

Bristol City’s second-choice keeper, Luke Steele - a former FA Youth Cup winner with Manchester United - hasn’t played since the previous round of this competition, but Lee Johnson has stuck to his word, having promised him cup football.

He’s used to occasions with lively atmospheres like this, from his recent experiences of the big Greek derby.

But Bristol City can’t afford for him to have a nervous start. How “match-sharp” will he be?

Bristol City manager Lee Johnson tells Sky Sports: "I am excited and excited for the supporters and especially the players. They have worked hard to get here, it is a special group and a bunch of great lads. We have not seen a match like this here in a while. Hopefully we can give it our best an go a long way.

"United have picked a strong team but we need every man to play at the maximum. We need the crowd, we are at home and know the dimensions of our pitch and we know where to deliver the ball. We will press them hard to get the ball back.

"It would be great if a young manager like myself can pick the brain of someone like Jose Mourinho afterwards, but at the moment we are concentrating on the match."
