Michael Reid: After that penalty being given, no wonder everyone hates referees. That was a shocking call. Mike Dean making the game all about himself... again.

Tom: Classic Arsenal. Get their noses in front then immediately panic sets it. Wenger out!

    West Brom 1-1 Arsenal

Alexis Sanchez's goal has since been deemed an own goal by James McClean. Might need cricket's HawkEye ball tracking to firm that one up. Harsh on the Chilean.

Three added minutes left. Is there a winner?

Calum Chamber's has put his hand in front of his body and the balls hit it - he didn't move his hand towards the ball. Should he have his arm down alongside him? I don't know - it's a tough one.

The concentration of fixtures over Christmas/New Year is ridiculous. The intensity of some games hasn't been too far off a University 3rd XI training session!

I don't even know if James McClean was supposed to be part of the wall. He was just on the end, and if it does hit you, you can't turn away!

It was such a poor free-kick, I don't even know if it was on target. Boy have Arsenal been lucky there - that might have just got them out of jail.

GOAL - West Brom 0-1 Arsenalpublished at 18:11 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2017

    James McClean own goal

Craig Dawson brings down Alexis Sanchez on the edge of the box to give Arsenal a free-kick in a dangerous position. Could this be the moment? The answer is YES.

West Brom's wall with all the protection of a chocolate fireguard as Alexis Sanchez's shot finds its way - via a deflection off James McClean's shin - and into the net.

In a game low on quality, the Chilean looks to have provided a rather fortunate standout moment.

I don't know why James McClean didn't whip that free-kick in there - what are the odds on him scoring from that angle, from 35 yards. It was a really good opportunity to put a ball in the box, but McClean has just wasted it.

The quality of this game here must bring into focus (yet again) the wisdom of having so many fixtures this close together. Fans must feel a little shortchanged, surely?

You have to give West Brom credit for how they've dealt with Arsenal so far, but they have to keep going how they are, because they know that if they do go a goal behind they're very unlikely to get back in it.

    West Brom 0-0 Arsenal

    Steve Claridge

That's a very good save from Petr Cech - it was a rasping shot from Jay Rodriguez - but I'm not sure why he wasn't closed down sooner.

  17. CLOSE!published at 77 min

West Brom have a bit more energy now. James Rodriguez stings the palms of Petr Cech with a piledriver from outside the box after space opens up in front of him. A decent save from the Arsenal goalkeeper.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 75 min

    West Brom 0-0 Arsenal

West Brom make a trio of substitutions in a matter of minutes as Alan Pardew freshens things up. James McClean, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Allan Nyom all come on with Matt Phillips, Chris Brunt and Hal Robson-Kanu the men to make way.

Well, not quite the change Arsenal fans might have hoped for. Per Mertesacker is introduced for Laurent Koscielny. Moments later, though, striker Danny Welbeck replaces Alex Iwobi. Can he apply the killer touch?
