It's gone back to the pattern of the first half now, we had 15 minutes of decent football, but now it's gone back to how it was in the first half - dull. They spoiled us with that 15 minutes. But now, again, there's no space for either side to attack, the strikers are so isolated.

The visitors still with two thirds of the possession as they attack down the flanks, but it won't be a happy new year for Arsenal fans if nothing comes of it.

Alexandre Lacazette darts into the box and gets his toe on Alexis Sanchez's defence-splitting pass. It goes agonisingly wide of the post.

Moments later, Sanchez cuts in from the left and strikes the side netting.

Really good move from Arsenal, easily the best moment of the game. Nice play from Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette on the edge of the box, and space opened up for Lacazette, he's shot, and it's a good save from Ben Foster.

Probably the closest as we have come to a goal so far. Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette plays a clever one-two with Alex Iwobi and ghosts past a couple of defenders as he runs across goal. Space opens up for a shot but West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster saves well at his near post.

West Brom's Chris Brunt swings a free-kick into the box, but Petr Cech is a commanding presence. The Arsenal goalkeeper, in a luminous orange kit, comes off his line to punch clear.

Anon: Sorry but Arsene Wenger is a spent force he is never going to win the title again. Retire gracefully Arsene.

The game feels like it's starting to open up - finally. We've got a bit of tempo, and the game's being played over a wider area, so hopefully some space will open up for both sides.

Some positive from play, a decent cross from Hal Robson-Kanu and West Brom force a corner. Jonny Evans heads the ball down for Ahmed Hegazi but he can only juggle the ball in the box before lifting it high into the stands.

All a bit scrappy now. Both sides giving away the ball away cheaply. Theo Walcott getting himself ready to come on for the Gunners.

Dennis Ethan: Arsenal tend to struggle against these the so-called lesser teams especially in the absence of Mesut Ozil. No clear-cut chances.

West Brom again occupy a decent position in the final third, this time Hal Robson-Kanu pops up on the right flank. Yet again there are not enough numbers from West Brom in the penalty area.

At the other end Alexandre Lacazette is brought down on the edge of the box by Craig Dawson, but Alexis Sanchez can only strike the resulting free-kick into the West Brom wall.
