  1. HALF-TIME Hearts 1-1 Rangerspublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

All square at the end of the breathless first half. Hearts did next to nothing before Kyle Lafferty swept in a brilliant free kick and then the hosts looked likelier to add to their tally before Kenny Miller levelled.

In between the goals, there was a big let-off for Hearts keeper Jon McLaughlin, who appeared to handle outside his area.

This will be the last action of the first half as John Souttar floats in a corner. Hearts skipper Christophe Berra can't get there and the whistle sounds from Craig Thomson.

    Hearts 1-1 Rangers

Hearts look for a quick response as Harry Cochrane takes aim with a powerful 20-yard strike. It moves around a bit in the air but it's central and Wes Foderingham gets a hand on it without too much trouble.

    Kenny Miller

Just as Hearts were beginning to take control, Rangers are level.

Alfredo Morelos threads a nice pass through for Kenny Miller to latch on to, just as the striker shoots John Souttar dives in and the ball lifts up off the defender's foot and spins over the top of keeper Jon McLaughlin on its way into the net.

Between the two officials they should have got that call right. The linesman is right in line with it and has to tell the referee the goalkeeper is outside the box.

    Big call!

Rangers break immediately and Daniel Candeias is sprinting after a raking pass as Jon McLaughlin ventures outside his penalty box to mop up. Did he use his hands?

No, say the officials. Yes, say every Rangers supporter inside the stadium.

TV replays suggest the keeper got away with a grave error of judgement.

That was a fortunate call for Hearts there. Not sure there was much in it.

    Hearts 1-0 Rangers

Referee Craig Thomson blows for a foul as Alfredo Morelos out-jumps Hearts keeper Jon McLaughlin. There's a man in maroon in place to clear off the goal-line, which spares the officials a headache because there wasn't much wrong with the Rangers forward's challenge.

It should be 2-0 as Isma Goncalves splits the Rangers defence wide open with a wonderful reverse pass. Ross Callachan can see the whites of the keeper's eyes but is not comfortable on his left foot and can only send a weak effort straight into the arms of Wes Foeringham.

It's the first moment of real quality in the game. The keeper had no chance with that one.

    Kyle Lafferty

Ross McCrorie brings down Isma Goncalves 22 yards out. Kyle Lafferty is on the free kick and he curls an absolute peach of a shot into the top corner, leaving goalie Wes Foderingham grasping at fresh air.

More shaky defending from the hosts and once again they get off the hook as Kenny Miller puts far too much on a pass intended for Alfredo Morelos, who was racing into the penalty box.

    Hearts 0-0 Rangers

Former Jambo Jason Holt eats up ground, drifting in from the left. The midfielder takes aim for the far top corner but doesn't quite catch it, enabling Jon McLaughlin to save comfortably.

Play is brought to a halt after a nasty clash of heads involving Hearts skipper Christophe Berra and Ross McCrorie.

John Patrick Butler doesn't think too much of the idea of manager Derek McInnes switching to Rangers from Aberdeen.

"Surely McInnes already realises he is at the bigger club?! #Aberdeen, external," he said on Twitter in reply to #bbcsportscot.

Meanwhile, on the BBC Sport Scotland Facebook page, Brian Murphy is pleased to see Kenny Miller back in Rangers' starting line-up - and as captain - after his dispute with previous manager Pedro Caixinha.

"A good move," he said. "We need a leader on the park."
