    Hearts 0-0 Rangers

John Souttar has to deal with a ball dropping from a great height and he doesn't do it very well, nodding straight into the path of Josh Windass on the edge of the Hearts penalty area but the Rangers midfielder lashes a wild shot high over the crossbar.

  2. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Rangers

Sloppy defensive work from Hearts goes unpunished as a first-time pass from Daniel Candeias fails to find either Kenny Miller or Alfredo Morelos, running straight through to Hearts goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin.

  3. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Hearts 0-0 Rangers

The surface may be in pristine condition but there's not much in the way of slick passing as both sides start at a furious pace, quick to press and snap into tackles.

Rangers' performance levels have been nowhere near good enough. They have taken five points from a possible 15 at Ibrox and that's just terrible. This team needs to show a reaction, they need to show they care

  6. Levein wary of "bounce" for Gerspublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Hearts v Rangers (12:30)

Speaking to BBC Scotland. Hearts manager Craig Levein: "It's never nice to lose to your local rivals and I'm glad we have a game quickly after it.

"Playing Rangers at any time is difficult and making a managerial change can have the bounce.

"We're going to have to play well to take three points. We have to play better than we did on Tuesday night.

"There is an element of the unknown but we've looked at games Graeme [Murty] was in charge of previously.

"Kenny Miller has flown in from Siberia to take his place in the team. He will show hunger and passion and why he should have been in the team."

Harry Cochrane is only 16, but he has a bit about him. He wants the ball, he plays it simple and has good vision. He also wants to mix it and put his foot in

Kenny Miller has got to perform because he hasn't performed for Rangers this season. The pressure is on him.

  9. Will Walker find his way?published at 12:12 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Hearts v Rangers (12:30)

Jamie Walker might have extra incentive to do well today. The Hearts midfielder was the subject of bids from Rangers over the summer but they got nowhere near the Edinburgh club's valuation.

The 24-year-old has not really set the heather on fire this season, so will he want to remind his suitors of what he is capable of?

  10. Big away day for Rangers fanspublished at 12:05 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Hearts v Rangers (12:30)

It may be a home game for Hearts but fans in maroon may well be outnumbered by Rangers supporters at the home of Scottish Rugby.

Given the size of the stadium, the visitors were offered up to 14,000 tickets and, if most of those have been sold, that must be a modern record for an away following at a league match.

  11. Picking Miller an 'easy decision' for Murtypublished at 12:00 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Hearts v Rangers (12:30)

Speaking to Rangers TV before today's match at Murrayfield, interim Rangers manager Graeme Murty: "Graham Dorrans is out of the side, we needed someone to come in and Kenny Miller is fit. He knows the way I like to play so it was an easy one for me.

"It's about playing people who can find some good spaces to play so we can dominate the ball more than we have.

"The players that are in the team know what I want. That's the reason I've done it the way I have. We've looked at Hearts but preparing with one day's notice isn't ideal.

"I would like us to be aggressive on the ball and dominate the ball.

"This is a great venue. We want the fans to come in here with a smile on their face and leave with a bigger one."

  12. Midweek derby woe for Heartspublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Hearts v Rangers (12:30)

Rangers are not the only side in need of a pick-me-up... Hearts were consigned to their second straight Edinburgh derby defeat at Easter Road on Tuesday.

Craig Levein's side went down 1-0 to Hibernian, who have not lost to Hearts in more than three years, and the scoreline doesn't really tell the story of a very one-sided contest.

That was Hearts' fourth Premiership defeat of the season, leaving them three points behind today's opponents.

  13. A dramatic end to Caixinha's reignpublished at 11:52 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Hearts v Rangers (12:30)

At around 21:30 on Wednesday, the garden looked slightly rosier for the home fans at Ibrox with Rangers seemingly on their way to victory against bottom-of-the-table Kilmarnock.

Rangers won a stoppage-time penalty but had Ryan Jack sent off in the aftermath and then missed the spot-kick. Kilmarnock went straight up the park and scored to claim a 1-1 draw.

Within 24 hours, Pedro Caixinha had been dismissed as Rangers manager.

  15. Miller returns, as captainpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Hearts v Rangers (12:30)

Veteran striker Kenny Miller hasn't been in the Rangers match-day squad since the home defeat to Celtic on 23 September, after which he reportedly fell out with now ex-manager Pedro Caixinha.

Caretaker boss Graeme Murty hasn't let the influence his decisions, though, with Miller restored to the starting line-up and handed the captain's armband.

He is one of two changes to the Rangers side that drew with Kilmarnock in midweek. Miller replaces the injured Graham Dorrans, while Danny Wilson comes in for the suspended Bruno Alves.

  16. Three changes for Heartspublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

    Hearts v Rangers (12:30)

Hearts manager Craig Levein had to rethink his plans when Pedro Caixinha was dismissed, with Rangers being prepared for the game by caretaker manager Graeme Murty.

Levein has made three changes to the side that lost the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road, with Jamie Brandon and Euan Henderson dropping to the bench and Connor Randall missing out completely.

They are replaced in the starting line-up by teenage midfielders Lewis Moore and Harry Cochrane and striker Isma Goncalves.

  18. Sizzling Saturday in storepublished at 11:40 British Summer Time 28 October 2017

Good morning and welcome to a busy Saturday in the Scottish Premiership.

All the teams are involved today and we get started with an intriguing lunchtime serving from Murrayfield as Hearts welcome Rangers to their temporary home.

Graeme Murty is in charge of the visitors following the departure of Pedro Caixinha. How will Rangers respond to the change and how will Hearts approach this one after a meek midweek loss in the Edinburgh derby?
