"You've got to give Fylde credit," says Wigan's David Sharpe. "They deserved to go in 0-0 but it was a great cross and that's what Will Grigg does."

David Haythornthwaite, Fylde's chairman added: "I thought in the first five minutes we were going to get killed, but we got better. I thought we were going to go in 0-0 at half-time. It's a great cross and the guy took it well."

I'd argue this was the most entertaining thing to happen at Mill Farm so far this evening.

Fylde boss Dave Challinor, speaking to BBC Sport: "We have been under pressure like I thought we would be. Disappointed to concede like we have but we will have a right go in the second half.

"We have to get higher up the pitch. We are giving the ball away in our defensive and middle third of the pitch."

They have picked up where they left off in the league. They look like at any moment they can step it up and create a chance.

A burst of excitement at the end after 43 minutes of build-up.

Danny Rowe takes a cross-shot from the left at the other end which sends goalkeeper Jamie Jones into action for only the second time in the first half.

I like the cut of Dave Challinor's jib.

The AFC Fylde manager looks calm and pensive in his technical area, as he makes his final assessments before half-time.

He also looks like he's been kitted out in the club shop. A Fylde bobble hat tops the look off beautifully.

Wigan earn a corner after a mistake by Andy Bond. It's whipped in and Evans has the time to control it and take a hit, but the angle is all wrong.

Johnny Smith makes another inviting run up the left-hand side but once again he's got no one to pass to.

Flyde have made just one touch inside the opposition's box so far.

Michael Jacobs has another go from distance for Wigan. This time it stays within the perimeters ground but ends up among the fans, who are huddled together like those penguins on Planet Earth.

There is just that difference with speed of thought and movement.

Another bit of lovely build-up play from Wigan - Michael Jacobs' ball in from the left is cleared with conviction by Zaine Francis-Angol.

The Latics earn a corner, then a throw-in, but they can't do anything with either.

They keep the pressure up though and Max Power tries to wiggle through into the box before the ball drifts into the hands of Jay Lynch.
