  1. 'Wigan have dictated play'published at 20:56 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Wigan Athletic

    Kevin Kilbane
Former Everton winger on BBC Two

Fylde have been sat in organised and deep but they've not been able to get pressure on the ball in midfield. It's allowed Wigan to dictate the play.

  2. KICK-OFFpublished at 45 mins

Elliot Almqvist: Will Grigg's on fire, your defence is terri-fylde!

It's the only goal of the game so far and it's gone in League One Wigan's favour.

We've got the chairmen on BBC Two right now.

"You've got to give Fylde credit," says Wigan's David Sharpe. "They deserved to go in 0-0 but it was a great cross and that's what Will Grigg does."

David Haythornthwaite, Fylde's chairman added: "I thought in the first five minutes we were going to get killed, but we got better. I thought we were going to go in 0-0 at half-time. It's a great cross and the guy took it well."

  7. Never work with footballers and referees...published at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Wigan

I'd argue this was the most entertaining thing to happen at Mill Farm so far this evening.

  8. Postpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Wigan Athletic

Fylde boss Dave Challinor, speaking to BBC Sport: "We have been under pressure like I thought we would be. Disappointed to concede like we have but we will have a right go in the second half.

"We have to get higher up the pitch. We are giving the ball away in our defensive and middle third of the pitch."

  9. 'Wigan always look like they can step it up'published at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Wigan Athletic

    Danny Webber
Former Watford and Sheff Utd striker on BBC Two

They have picked up where they left off in the league. They look like at any moment they can step it up and create a chance.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Wigan

A burst of excitement at the end after 43 minutes of build-up.

  11. Postpublished at 45 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-1 Wigan

Danny Rowe takes a cross-shot from the left at the other end which sends goalkeeper Jamie Jones into action for only the second time in the first half.

A good response from Fylde after going a goal down.

Thoroughly deserved. It was coming, the pressure was building up. A lovely cross as well.

GOAL - AFC Fylde 0-1 Wiganpublished at 43 mins

    Will Grigg

    It's been coming...

A gorgeous ball into the box from Nathan Byrne finds Will Grigg, and the Wigan striker heads home with force.

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

I like the cut of Dave Challinor's jib.

The AFC Fylde manager looks calm and pensive in his technical area, as he makes his final assessments before half-time.

He also looks like he's been kitted out in the club shop. A Fylde bobble hat tops the look off beautifully.

  15. CLOSE!published at 39 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

Gaaah, over the bar from Lee Evans!

Wigan earn a corner after a mistake by Andy Bond. It's whipped in and Evans has the time to control it and take a hit, but the angle is all wrong.

  16. Postpublished at 37 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

Johnny Smith makes another inviting run up the left-hand side but once again he's got no one to pass to.

Flyde have made just one touch inside the opposition's box so far.

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

Michael Jacobs has another go from distance for Wigan. This time it stays within the perimeters ground but ends up among the fans, who are huddled together like those penguins on Planet Earth.

There is just that difference with speed of thought and movement.

  19. Postpublished at 33 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

Another bit of lovely build-up play from Wigan - Michael Jacobs' ball in from the left is cleared with conviction by Zaine Francis-Angol.

The Latics earn a corner, then a throw-in, but they can't do anything with either.

They keep the pressure up though and Max Power tries to wiggle through into the box before the ball drifts into the hands of Jay Lynch.
