    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

A great move from Fylde, which ends with Johnny Smith whipping in a cross from the left which eventually earns the hosts' first corner of the game.

It comes to nothing for the National League side. They're pushing, though.

    Mark Lawrenson

He had two occasions where he got himself enough space to hit the ball but he wasn't sure on his left foot. Still, he comes alive around the penalty area.

I don't know about you but we're screaming 'TAKE IT, TAKE A SHOT' at Flyde's Danny Rowe.

The striker gets in such a good position to let fly from the edge of the area but he bottles it this time.

  5. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

    Oh my, that was close.

Will Grigg's header, which may have taken a touch off George Edmundson, clips the corner of the goalpost and bounces out again.

The keeper stood still so that's a let off for Fylde.

  6. 'A bit like superman'published at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2017

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan Athletic

    Mark Lawrenson
Former Liverpool defender on BBC One

It was offside, but the goalkeeper didn't fill you with confidence when he came for that. It was a bit of a superman impression.

  7. Postpublished at 22 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

There are gasps from the commentary box as a long ball comes into the Wigan box and goalkeeper Jamie Jones leaps like a salmon to punch it clear, and clatters a load of players on his way down.

The offside flag was already up so he didn't really need to do that. It made Lawro grit his teeth!

  8. Postpublished at 19 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

George Edmundson goes to toe-poke the ball out of the path of Will Grigg but he catches the Wigan striker instead.

The visitors earn a free-kick from the collision, about 25 yards out. Lee Evans lines it up, swings it in, but it sways past the target.

Egypt international Sam Morsy takes a swipe at goal but Jay Lynch has it covered for the hosts.

Do we have a future World Cup star in our midst tonight? Egypt are playing Russia, Uruguay and Saudi Arabia in Group A next summer.

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

A decent spell from Fylde. They're looking a bit more likely in attack.

Danny Rowe is waiting in the box for a floating cross from Johnny Smith which doesn't quite reach him. Captain Sam Finley picks up the ball on the edge of the box but doesn't take a shot and he loses possession.

Marc Bazeley: Going to say Wigan to win purely based on the fact Paul Cook is sensibly dressed while Dave Challinor looks like he's going on an Arctic trek. It's the old Tuesday Morning Quarterback adage: If you're worried about being cold, you've already lost.

Sparky: If the Wigan players are having a problem with a colour clash they need to change, NOT the ref

Wigan swarm again but Fylde are holding their own in defence for now, without offering much up front.

Max Power pops a low ball across the 3G pitch in search of a Latics striker, but goalkeeper Jay Lynch gets there first.

I am surprised the referee has the same shorts and socks on as the Wigan players because when they just played a pass then they thought the referee was one of the Wigan players.

Danny Rowe, the National League's top scorer, gets his first sniff at goal from the edge of the area but his shot is blocked by a solid row of black shirts.

Defender Dan Burn makes a rare dart up the left as Wigan regain control, but Fylde contain the threat again.

Lovely move but he should have scored. A little bit rash in his finishing - needed a dink more than anything- but you saw that pace there. That's a let off for Fylde.

  18. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    AFC Fylde 0-0 Wigan

Wigan are all over the hosts.

Gavin Massey has a great chance to get the Latics ahead early doors, after playing a nice one-two with Will Grigg, but he slides his shot wide of the post.

Mark, Kent: Margate at home to Fulham back in the late 90s. 1-0 up but the Division 2 team turned it around and won 2-1. That game had everything - penalty, injuries, naked pitch invaders, and Andy Gray commentating in a makeshift commentary box while we sat in a makeshift stand!

The ball is out the ground! If you had that on your FA Cup bingo, tick it off.

Michael Jacobs shoots well over for Wigan.
