  1. Postpublished at 90+2 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen kicks his free-kick straight out of touch! Nerves? Italy send everyone up now. May as well.

    Ugly clearance, corner, BUFFON UP!

    YES...

  2. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 90+1 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

ANOTHER penalty appeal waved away for handball. I've never seen so many appeals. That didn't look like one at real speed as Federico Bernardeschi mows his man down and is booked.

  3. INJURY TIMEpublished at 90+1 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Where has he dragged five minutes from?!

  4. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Brainless from Andrea Barzagli, blocking off his man on halfway. Free-kick for Sweden and they can take as long as they want.

    FIVE MINUTES ADDED ON!

  5. Postpublished at 90 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

    LAST MINUTE. Time for heroes...

  6. Postpublished at 89 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Just Gigi Buffon in his half, 21 other men in a 35-yard square at one end of the San Siro. Sweden have a throw in. TIME!

  7. CLOSE!published at 87 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Italy basically have eight or nine men forwards now and Marco Parolo leaps brilliantly to meet a cross - but floats his header wide!

  8. GREAT SAVE!published at 86 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Save of the night! Crisp hit from Stephan El Shaarawy, 22 yards out and absolutely off the middle of his boot, really well hit and Robin Olsen pushes it away!

  9. Postpublished at 85 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Tired legs, tired minds out there now. For all of their possession Italy have landed four efforts on target, as Andrea Belotti shoots wide from long range. The table doesn't lie in the league, and these play-offs don't tend to lie either. Italy don't deserve to go through as it stands.

  10. Postpublished at 84 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

    SIX MINUTES left.

Anywhere will do for Sweden as Emil Forsberg hacks an ugly clearance away. This is all very un-Italy. In the mixer.

  11. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Eight minutes left. Italy are going to miss the World Cup for the first time since we had parking meters in the UK.

Chance! Robin Olsen has to be alert to push away a dipping header. Routine enough.

The San Siro is really quiet. This is stress.

  12. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Sweden have a break, Sweden waste another break. Marcus Berg's header across goal is a smart one but Leo Bonucci clears it brilliantly and Berg's volley is tired and wasteful.

    Ten minutes to go!

  13. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 79 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Another appeal waved away as Ciro Immobile goes down - that was 90% desperation though. I think this referee set his stall out a long time ago when it comes to giving pens. He's not having it.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 76 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

This is bordering on the unforgivable I'm afraid. He's made his final change - and it's Federico Bernardeschi, not Lorenzo Insigne.

That could be Giampiero Ventura's Lineker/Smith sub...

    Alessandro Florenzi shoots over.

  15. Postpublished at 74 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Almost an air of resignation inside the stadium now. The atmosphere has been sucked out of it. Italy are having all of the ball but they are yet to build up a head of steam in the second half. Still Lorenzo Insigne sits on the bench...

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Daniella Matar: The saddest thing about this #ItalySweden, external match is that it looks like Buffon is playing the final 20 minutes of his #Italy, external career

  17. Postpublished at 72 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Marcus Rohden is on for Sweden - fresh legs up top. Maybe he can add that composure they need to seal the deal.

  18. Postpublished at 70 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Italy are bound to leave some space at the back now and Sweden have a chance to counter. Not for the first time they make a real mess of it. They had four men up and the best they could muster is a scuffed pass into the run of Emil Forsberg, whose shot was easily charged down.

A bit of pace and composure and Sweden could have ended this one by now.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 69 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Another booking, sub Isaac Kiese Thelin in the book for a raised arm on Leo Bonucci. We'll do well to get through the 90/120 minutes without a red.

I make that six bookings now.
