  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 13 November 2017

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Bit of a scare for Italy as Gigi Buffon comes to punch a free-kick away and is on his back as it drops for Emil Forsberg - his cross is cleared though!

    Half time.

The ref is now over to talk to Gianpiero Ventura - calm it down seems to be the message.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 45 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Well played! Invention and inspiration from Alessandro Florenzi as he beats his man inside the area, wide on the left, he drives in and fires in a shot which Robin Olsen saves with his feet. Italy well on top...

  4. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Leonardo Bonucci heads a deep free-kick over the bar. Italy have got the fans back on board with that flurry of half chances.

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Sweden just a bit ragged, they need half time. Close again as Italy free Ciro Immobile inside the area, again his cut-back looks decent but again that's brilliant defending from Andreas Granqvist, across his man at the front post to slide it away!

  6. CLOSE!published at 40 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

    Off the line!

Italy's best approach has been for Jorginho to find Ciro Immobile in behind the Sweden defence and this time he finds a gem of a pass to pick out the striker. He looked offside but there's no flag, Immobile hits a shot through the legs of Robin Olsen, Andreas Granqvist gets back to clear away!

Good save actually, the keeper got plenty on that.

  7. Postpublished at 39 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz is making few friends out there. Sweden now annoyed as he pings Mikael Lustig for going up for a header. He's making the game stodgy and stop-start, which surely helps the visitors though.

Chris Wex: is this really the best that Italian football has to offer? They've become so... English. Where's the craft, wit and finesse gone?

John McEnerney: Buffon played with some greats of Italian football. Bet he’d give his right arm to have a Pirlo or Del Piero out there to run the game even without the right arm he’d still be outstanding.

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Italy have bossed possession in the first half but have nothing to show for it, not even a shot on target.

Sweden, happy to soak up the pressure, are looking comfortable and have the luxury of sitting in as they hold the first-leg advantage.

It's whistling in Milan, fan zero at the San Siro. They are not happy. Italy look a very average side indeed. Sweden have been limited but they have a 1-0 lead to defend. Italy's approach play is not pretty so far.

Simon Turner: So just what constitutes handball these days?!?

Michael Reid: If a referee had done his job correctly, players wouldn't need to 'man-handle' him. it was another strong shout for a penalty for Sweden. Why isn't video technology in play yet?

Andy White: Are Italy using the rush goalie rule?

Leonardo Bonucci is not in a good way. He can hardly move.

  13. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 29 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Leo Bonucci is the latest man in the wars, taking a whack to the knee and needing some treatment. He's back on but moving extremely gingerly.

ANOTHER PENALTY APPEAL! Emil Forsberg flicks a pass into the middle, it hits Andrea Barzagli on the hand again and Forsberg is booked after laying his hands on the referee...

Dangerous game. But that could be three penalties already.

  14. CLOSE!published at 27 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Poor. Italy move the ball well down the right to find Antonio Candreva, perennial Chelsea target, but his cross is really poor.

It goes down the left instead and Ciro Immobile feeds it right across the six-yard box, all it needs is a touch but it evades everyone, until Cabdreva whacks the loose ball over the top!

That was better. Surely you'd start Lorenzo Insigne though?

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Great photo this of Jorginho belting out the anthem and even his team-mates finding his passion a surprise.

The Napoli midfielder is making his first start for Italy, he was born in Brazil but moved to Italy as a lad.

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

An away goal for Sweden sends all sorts of Scandinavian felines among the pigeons and there's their first shot on goal. Viktor Claesson hits a low shot from the edge of the area but it's a routine save for maestro Buffon.

Italy's tactics so far have basically been 'hit Immobile over the top.'

    Demand it!

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 22 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

That's about the size of it Simon. This is Sunday League stuff at times as Andrea Barzagli mows his man down on the halfway line! In the book you go sir. That was just a kick in the shins.

The Swedes have really rattled Italy in the two games so far.

Simon Turner: Two stone cold penalties waved off, Chiellini one mistimed challenge away from dismissal, Johansson carried off on a stretcher...and barely 20mins in!

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 19 mins

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Gustav Svensson is on in midfield in place of the stricken Jakob Johansson.

  20. ouch!

    Italy 0-0 Sweden (Agg 0-1)

Oh no, that looks like a serious injury indeed for Jakob Johanssson. The goalscorer from the first leg gets his studs planted in the turf and spins to retrieve a pass behind him, and his knee buckles horribly. He's in big trouble and the medics are quickly on.

This could be a lengthy delay and almost certainly the end of his night.
