It's hard to imagine how England's women are still only one goal up at Walsall.

The Lionesses have had a string of first-half chances, with 25-goal Chelsea striker Fran Kirby proving particularly unlucky . . . although the less about Danielle Carter's miss the better.

I can think of one or two more illustrious men's professional clubs in this area whose fans would love to see such attacking football. Entertainment-starved Tony Pu-less West Bromwich Albion and goalshy Birmingham City, the EFL's lowest scorers, in particular.

Wales almost open the scoring in their first attack of the half as Rachel Rowe cuts in from the left and along the byeline past a couple of challenges. Her poked shot almost finds its way in at the near post but is hacked away.

England need to keep their standards high in this match. They are ranked third in the world - far above Bosnia - but they need to keep moving the ball side to side quickly, work the gaps and then find the penetrative pass.

Toni Duggan is very nearly picked out by Steph Houghton's crossfield ping into the box.

The Barcelona forward is perhaps a little spooked by the onrushing Almina Hodzic though and fails to get a touch.

Two minutes left of injury time.

Four minutes to add at the end of a first half that has been all England.

The sting is taken out of that one by a deflection though and the Bosnia goalkeeper scoops up gratefully.

The star of this show is Kazakhstan keeper Zheleznyak, much to Wales' frustration. The home side have had all the ball, all the chances, but have been unable to break through.

That was travelling.

Toni Duggan gets the ball out of her feet, 20 yards out, and puts the laces through the back of the ball.

As crisp as Alpine air.

But just wide of the near post with Alimina Hodzic a mere spectator.

England are pummeling their opponents everywhere except the scoreboard.

Argh! Agonising for England....

Nikita Parris is played in by a sublime no-look slide-rule pass from the impressive Jordan Nobbs and squares the ball.

Danielle Carter cannot quite get the telling touch though as she comes sliding in though.

Kazakhstan aren't even thinking beyond the halfway line at the moment. The entire game is being played in their half. However, Wales have yet to make all the territory and possession count.

Nikita Parris sprawls on the deck under a challenge from Lidija Kulis, but the England winger's appeals for a penalty are falling on deaf ears.

Toni Duggan is up and running again after coming off worse in an accidental collision with team-mate Millie Bright.

One person who will be warm is the Kazakhstan goal keeper, Zheleznyak who denies Wales again. Some good work again by Natasha Harding on the right-hand side, but she can't help make the breakthrough.

Jess Fishlock is getting a few more touches on the ball but she is being heavily marked wherever she goes on the pitch.

Almina Hodzic is struggling here. The Bosnia goalkeeper was winded in making one of those reflex stops from Fran Kirby and needs the magic sponge.

She is the plug preventing the dam from bursting at the moment.

Fortunately for the visitors, she is good to go again. Half an hour gone.

Kazakhstan keeper Zheleznyak is the star of the show at the moment. She pulls out another top-notch save to deny Angharad James diving low to her right to flick the low shot away.
