What a night. It looked like Celtic's long unbeaten domestic run was coming to a shuddering end at Fir Park following Mikael Lustig's own goal. However, a late penalty from substitute Scott Sinclair means Brendan Rodgers' side stretch their unbeaten run to 66 games.

Meanwhile, Rangers coasted to victory over 10-man Aberdeen at Ibrox with a James Tavernier double and a Carlos Pena strike.

  4. 'You see lots of those penalties'published at 22:10

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers on BBC Radio Scotland: "We’ve scored in every single domestic game since I’ve come in and we always believe we can score.

"I didn’t think it was a foul [for the free-kick that led to Motherwell's goal], I thought Scott Brown was getting back really well, won the battle of the arms with his strength.

"But the free-kick comes in and we’re unfortunate to score an own-goal. Yet again, the question is asked of the players. And I think you see from the game tonight why the run they’re on is such a special achievement because you can lose any game of football in many different ways.

"I thought it was a penalty. We go through, we should score, the keeper gets back in and follows it up really well. I give credit to Callum because he reacts really quickly, the ball comes out and you see lots of those penalties.

"Callum was really good, gets his body in front to protect the ball and Rose is a wee bit keen and eager at that stage of the game to get to the ball. He makes contact with him in the box, and knocks him over. To be fair to Willie, he’s right on it, he sees it and he gives the penalty."

"There’s nobody better in that situation – Scott scored two penalties for me at Wembley in front of over 90,000 people. Whether it’s 90,000, 60,000 or 9,000, like it was tonight, I’ll always fancy him to score. He tucked it away really well and coped with that pressure. Of course the crowd were giving him a wee bit of stick but it doesn’t bother him. He’s a boy with great temperament and he showed that tonight."

  5. 'It feels a wee bit like a defeat'published at 22:00

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Celtic

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson on BBC Radio Scotland: "I’m disappointed for the boys, I'm ever so proud of them. The squad we’ve put together never say die and have put a terrific performance on there.

"Not many teams create that many chances against Celtic. Credit to Celtic, they never give in and they’ve got some talented, talented boys. But I think we were well worthy of a result tonight.

"I’m not going to make a comment on [the penalty], I’ll let people judge for themselves. It’s disappointing we’ve not gone on and won the game because of that.

"What I will say is if we were allowed to play the game with 11 men on Sunday, perhaps it would’ve been a terrific cup final.

"It feels a wee bit like a defeat, if I’m being honest. We even had chances towards the end when we broke.

"But it shows their level of commitment and desire and they won’t let that get to them. But I just want to talk about the football, the good players in the Celtic side, the great boys in our side, not referees."

  6. Murty hails 'mature' McCroriepublished at 21:55

    FT: Rangers 3-0 Aberdeen

Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty talking to Sky Sports: "Ross [McCrorie] was outstanding, his reading of the game, use of the ball, athleticism, for a man of those young years to show that maturity shows that well for the future.

"We have to make sure we pat him on the head and tell him how well he's done.

"Any goals will do. We've played in games like that and haven't managed to get the goals. I think you saw the confidence running through the team - that's what goals do for you.

"This is the benchmark. The players know what they're capable of, I know too. I see the level they're capable of performing at - that's the only thing that will satisfy our fans."

  7. Another 'sore one' for 'Wellpublished at 21:52

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Celtic

    James McFadden
Former Motherwell forward on BBC Radio Scotland

"Motherwell have every right to be aggrieved. Trevor Carson was outstanding, they defended excellently, Celtic were limited to very little chances.

"For that then to be a penalty is really hard for them.

"They're thinking thery're going to avenge the loss - they won't get a medal, but they're going to stop the Celtic winning run.

"For it not even to be through good play or being cut open, it'll be a sore one for them to take.

"You do want to ask the referee, once you've stopped shouting at him, can you just tell me why you've given the penalty? He'll just tell you it was a penalty, and tell you to go away."

  8. 'Don't do anything!'published at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 29 November 2017

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Radio Scotland

"The goalkeeper [Trevor Carson] has made two brilliant saves, the ball is not in a dangerous area, it's going away from goal - don't do anything!"

  9. 'Terrible decision'published at 21:44

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Celtic

    Billy Dodds
    BBC Scotland summariser

"Rose should exaggerate, kid on that he's going in for the tackle, then step off a quarter-yard. As soon as he goes leg-to-leg, you're giving him an opportunity.

"It's never a penalty, but as soon as there's that brush, leg-to-leg, McGregor goes over, Willie Collum's arm goes up - terrible decision."

  10. 'Was it a penalty? No chance'published at 21:41

    FT: Motherwell 1-1 Celtic

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

"Class act from Sinclair to step up and take it after the cup final and the abuse he was getting, and what a penalty.

"Was it a penalty? No chance. McGregor's going away from goal, there is a little bit of contact and he goes down.

"There's no way it's in a goalscoring position, it's straightforward body contact, there is no intent, no arm coming up that could con the referee.

"Body contact happens all the time, particularly in that time of the game - but if you want controversy, you've got the right referee, and he gave us it."

  11. FULL-TIME Motherwell 1-1 Celticpublished at 21:35

What a game at Fir Park. Motherwell, through Mikael Lustig's own goal, appeared destined to bring Celtic's 65-match unbeaten domestic run to an end... only for substitute Scott Sinclair to equalise from the spot.

    Motherwell 1-1 Celtic

    Pat Bonner

"Great bravery from Sinclair to step up, take the penalty, and there was no doubt - top corner, gave Carson, who has been the hero tonight, no chance at all."
