We could do with a nice early goal, please.

It looks like the teams are out and everything's in place, so let's get this match moving again...

Brentford came from behind to beat 10-man Fulham 3-1 in the west London derby, climbing to within eight points of the play-off places.

"We are nearing the midway stage now so if we remain as consistent as we have been, show the aggression and intensity we did today and turn some of the draws into wins, then we will maintain our push," manager Dean Smith said.

"There's an incredible togetherness about this football club and that will be important to us in the months ahead.

"That's why it's important to consider performances as well as results."

  4. Carvalhal vents anger at refereepublished at 18:26 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    FT: Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 Hull

Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal was sent to the stands during his side's 2-2 draw with struggling Hull, having been denied what he felt was a clear penalty prior to Hull's late equaliser.

"I'm very upset because we did everything we had to do and I did everything I had to do," Carvalhal told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"But there was an unbelievable penalty. The defender acted like a goalkeeper, it is very clear.

"In the last 10 games we have been living with these kind of situations and you know this is not something I imagine.

"We have lost 10 points [to referee errors] and with them I would be in a different position."

Right, while we pause for breath at Ashton Gate, let's bring you some more reaction from the 15:00 GMT matches in the Championship, starting at Hillsborough...

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 45+1 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

    HTImage source, .

That's been a decent 45 minutes without ever really sparking into life. Marlon Pack has come closest to scoring, seeing his shot cleared off the line.

    It's goalless at the break.

  7. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

We'll have just the one additional minute at the end of this opening period.

  8. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Stinger!

As Middlesbrough switch the ball from right to left, full-back Fabio smashes an effort towards goal from 20 yards which Frank Fielding can only palm away despite being right at him.

  9. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Bristol City's most likely route to goal still looks from set-pieces, as centre-back Nathan Baker stays forward after another Hordur Magnusson long-throw but can't properly test Darren Randolph with a diving header.

We're marching towards half-time at Ashton Gate.

  10. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Adama Traore certainly looks Middlesbrough's best outlet, as they again win the ball back and break at pace, but the Boro man makes a poor decision in shooting rather than passing - an effort that dribbles miles wide.

At the other end, Marlon Pack sparks Bristol City into an attack of their own, but Jamie Paterson's half-volley drifts wide of the far post.

There's more to Hordur Magnusson than just defending, though. The Iceland left-back has an almighty long-throw-in.

His latest effort, launched all the way into the six-yard area, eventually leads to a free-kick for a daft push on Aden Flint, but Middlesbrough get the set-piece away from danger.

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Adama Traore is so close to getting in on goal, but his touch is poor and just allows Hordur Magnusson across to clear behind for a Middlesbrough corner.

It's a game of nearly moments.

We're approaching the half-hour mark and Marlon Pack's effort which was cleared off the line by Boro striker Britt Assombalonga is the only shot on target we've had.

There's been plenty of nice, passing football from both sides - but very little of it has come in the kind of areas the two managers would like.

  14. Harris enjoys 'outstanding' performancepublished at 17:57 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2017

    FT: Millwall 3-1 Sheffield United

    Neil HarrisImage source, Rex Features

Millwall moved six points clear of the relegation zone with a 3-1 victory over Sheffield United, who missed out on the chance to close the gap on the top two.

"We had a conundrum at half-time, whether to stick with what we were doing and give them the opportunity to get on top of us, or to change shape," manager Neil Harris told BBC Radio London.

"I thought the players second half were outstanding. If you want to epitomise Millwall, look at the second goal. We gave the ball away, but Lee Gregory chases back 40 yards, and then he has a moment of quality to play the ball through to Mahlon Romeo."

  15. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

But there's a bit of concern over Bristol City midfielder Korey Smith now, who's stayed down after a challenge on the edge of the Robins box.

He's eventually back to his feet and, by the looks of things, able to continue.

  16. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

The hosts are really knocking on the door here.

Middlesbrough can only half-clear a free-kick from the left but, when Marlon Pack drills a shot back into the mixer, Britt Assombalonga is able to get back onto his own goal line to clear.

A penny for Garry Monk's thoughts? His team are under a bit of pressure at the moment.

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Joe Bryan, normally at left-back, is playing further forward for Bristol City tonight and forces Darren Randolph into a pretty routine save when his shot across goal is deflected.

Moments later, Bryan again gets down the left and fizzes in a delightful come-and-finish-me cross along the edge of the six-yard box, but Josh Brownhill can't connect. Unlucky.

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

Bristol City are playing some really neat and tidy stuff - possibly some of the best passing football they've played in recent weeks - but it's all in relatively harmless areas and when Boro get a chance to win it back they take it.

Now Stewart Downing gets down the right but his pull back is cleared by the Robins defence.

  19. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

The game's just threatening to open up, as again Bobby Reid gets in behind the Boro defence only to be shuffled away from danger, before the away side break and tee up Stewart Downing for a shot over the bar.

All fairly watchable, but still yet to properly burst into life.

  20. Postpublished at 9 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Middlesbrough

It's remarkable to think Bristol City's Bobby Reid, at the age of 24, had never played up top before this season. Now he's leading the line for a team fifth in the Championship.

His movement off the shoulder is excellent here, latching on to Korey Smith's lofted pass, but he can only drill harmlessly into the side netting.
